7/10/2024 Today I observed a concerning situation at the Zaxby's location in Thomson, GA. Despite the extreme heat of 95°F, an employee was stationed outside taking orders in the drive-thru, while only two or three customers were in the parking lot. When I went to place my order, I asked, "Oh, is the speaker broken?" She smiled and replied, "No, ma'am, the speaker is turned off when someone is out here to take your order." I was dumbfounded, as it appeared the task could have been handled from inside the building, where six or so employees were already working. Instead, the drive-thru speaker was turned off, and she was required to stand in this heat.
As someone with more than 10 years of corporate management experience, I would only place an employee in such conditions if it were absolutely necessary. This practice not only poses health risks to the employee but is also inefficient given the volume of customers. There is absolutely no reason she couldn't have been inside performing this task.
I hope this feedback helps in re-evaluating your current practices to ensure better working conditions for your staff. Despite the situation, the employee was very kind and had an excellent attitude, much better than I might have had under similar circumstances.
While there were no issues with the food or the other employees I interacted with, my review is based solely on my observations as a loyal Zaxby's customer.

Read moreMe and my family stopped here on our road trip. This has to be one of the most discussing places I have ever stopped in as far as a fast food restaurant. All the tables were obviously dirty, the staff at the counter was rude, smacking lips as I place my order, as if I was interrupted their social gathering. There was lots of trash on the floor, straw wrappers, tissues, old receipts, and so much more. A gentleman came in after we had placed our order, and with almost every word being profound, was demanding free food. The employees gave him two large sacks and he never paid for. It appears that the manager is sitting at a table playing on an iPad and talking about her kids on her cell phone, while all of this is going on around her. This place is in serious need of management, and a complete make over, hopefully a visit from the health department. Also the counter where you pour your own drinks, was covered with old sticky drinks, and had a very foul smell, like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks or months. There were no lids for our drinks and again the cashier was smacking her lips as if we asked her something special when we just asked for lids for our drinks.
I was scared to attempt to use the restrooms, so we chose to go across the street and try our luck with a gas station restroom,...
Read moreI went to this Zaxby's restaurant in Thomson, Georgia and I placed my order for two people around noon. The ticket stated that our order was placed at 12:09 pm, by an employee who did not greet us, read our order back to us or any thing that would require some effort of professionalism on her part. We then waited on our order to be prepared and it took so long that all the people who ordered before us were getting very impatient. After waiting one minute shy of a full thirty minutes, I finally said something to the girl at the counter. She also chose not to speak to me. She heard that I had been waiting for close to 30 minutes and she held her hand out for my receipt and she took it and gave it to the cooks in the back. Within five additional minutes, I finally got my order. I was very interested in what she would say when she handed my order to me. An apology or ""have a nice day", or perhaps "sorry" ? Nope. Handed me my order without a word. The whole experience was very slow, unprofessional and unfriendly. For chicken dinners for now on, I have decide to...
