As in my coworkers go there often Maybe the week of our pay period that's when we really hit the donut area the pretzels and the meal platters with the chicken or the rib with a side of coleslaw a roll and either barbecue sauce or some other kind of sauce. If you want to go shopping shopping like get some of the fresh the vegetables fruits some of the meat there there is a high quality of stuff not everything is homemade we were surprised to see them pop open a big old container of potato salad which we just as customers assumed that everything was fresh homemade straight out of the oven back there or the stove but not. We also know that they still don't take the food stamps card and their claim is because covid and the machines aren't up so a whole bunch of people that have been laid off for the last 2 years etc etc they can't use their food stamps card because that's Market just wants cash or credit cards which is really unfair to those that want to shop here. But if you go to the little restaurant be aware that the food is not seasoned so everything is a bit Bland and you might have to bring more than just salt and pepper to give it that but I don't know. I guess that's just the way it is no flavor no seasoning really big portions of playing this is hard to consume. I usually avoid the restaurant all together. I looked around and the one thing I can say that the Dutch Market does have a lot of background people of the Latino community but as far as seeing any African-Americans in the background running in and out of kitchen for any reason or whatever is not a reality that I have seen in all the years I've gone to the Dutch Market whether in Laurel or in Germantown Maryland. She did say that they do come from Lancaster way out there in Philadelphia so that's...
Read moreThis is such a fun place to go. It is a busy place with plenty of fresh food items to choose from. They have the most delicious homemade pretzels and a rolled pretzel with a sausage and cooper cheese that will make you smile. We live the meat market and the staff is super helpful. There is always a line for fried chicken and plenty of desserts and candy to choose for your sweetooth. They have a great assortment of fresh vegetables too. The restaurant makes the best breakfast in Germantown. There is a line for a reason! I love their sausage patties and their home fries. Once you eat their breakfast you are not hungry for the rest of the day and there are always leftovers to take home. There is also a flower shop which is delightful. Beautiful bouquets and seasonal items and they last. The woman is very helpful in telling you what they are and how to care for your flowers. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bakery or the donut shop. Many types of delectables to choose from and sweeten your day. They also have quality furniture which is beautiful! It is Amish made and is solid. A very fair price for what you would purchase. Finally, there is the cheese counter which gives you plenty of choices for cheese, crackers, etc. Before Covid there were lots of samples to try before you buy. I love the Sweet Pepper Jam spread. It is yummy! All in all if you are near Germantown on Thursday, Friday or Saturday check out this place. You won't be disappointed and may find some other hidden gems I...
Read moreThe service here is just bad. It’s amateur hour. The wait staff and the people who work there don’t know what they are doing.
Went there this morning with my 9 month old baby. The place was steady but definitely not busy (there was no wait and plenty of empty tables). I ordered my food (Swiss and cheese omelet) and waited. After waiting for the food to arrive for about 20-25 min, I realized people who came after me were getting their food so I asked the waitress about my order. She said that it’s coming. I noted that customers who came in after me were getting their meals and I wasn’t. She left and didn’t come back till I got up and started to leave. I told her I am leaving and asked her whether she ever put my food order in. She replied that another waitress may have taken my order. At that moment, someone from the kitchen (maybe a manager) came and asked what the problem was. I said that I have been waiting on my food for a long time and it seems like the order was never put in. With zero apologies, he asked me what I want to do (his exact words) vs. how can we make it right or something like. I replied I am leaving.
As I was heading out, another woman was complaining about not being served.
This place is just...
