My parents had been here a couple times over the years and seemed to enjoy their selection over other tap rooms theyâd visited. So, they took me here one Friday evening to try it out.
One important note: I hate beer. I donât even like seltzers youâd get in a can that much. Cocktails and mixed drinks are my go-to. However, I do like ciders and my mom likes meads, which means she thinks Iâd like meads as well.
Anyway, we arrived around 5 on a Friday and the place was smaller than I expected, and not very crowded at all. There was only one bartender and he wasnât busy when we sat down at the bar, meaning he was very friendly and attentive. I like anything fruity and/or sour, so when I saw the sour gummy candy drink, I knew I had to try a sample. Not surprisingly, it wasnât as amazing as I expected. I then tried a sample of this honey pear cider, and it was a little better than the sour gummy candy drink. My mom ordered a 5 oz of the other flavor we were eyeing: the key lime pie cider. That was the best cider we had tried.
The mead flavors all looked intriguing, but I just didnât feel right spending $11 on a drink that I didnât even know if Iâd like (since you canât sample meads). If I was feeling more adventurous, I would have gotten the pb&j mead, but I opted for a prickly pear and vodka lemonade. I watched the bartender make it and he poured quite a hefty amount of vodka in the glass. I wasnât complaining one bit (my mom was scared though lol). Upon tasting it, it wasnât the best mixed drink ever, but it was strong and went down easy. Plus, it was a better price than these $16 cocktails you see at all restaurants nowadays.
My dad got the moose drool brown ale and I hated it whereas he liked it.
It was a nice, clean place with just the perfect temperature air conditioning, and the happy hour time range is honestly amazing if youâre like us and prefer to go out early and be home for the rest of the night. Also, sick merch. It was giving Game of Thrones (hence the...
Read moreWhile this place doesn't have "food" specifically aside from snacks to help you sober up, their DRINKS ARE TO DIE FOR!!! To give further context, I am VERY picky about my alcohol. I want flavor and smoothness, my favorite drinks are typically whiskeys because of how much the flavors tend to stick to one's tongue, allowing for you to get a more full-bodied taste which one can analyze and break down. Ordinarily, I dislike a LOT of meads, and I greatly dislike beer- Not here. While they do have some classic options available to those who know what they like and like what they know, they also have some of their own brews, which is to die for. My favorites are their honeyed meads! This place is especially good if you want to socialize with friends and family, and if you enjoy trivia, as they often have trivia competitions at night!
While I did previously say they don't have food, they DO have people come by to serve their customers, such as the head sushi cook/ chef from RA sushi, or staff from Vincent Van Dough, both if which are high quality restaurants which serve amazing dishes!
Whatever you want to do here, be it socialize and catch up with fam or friends, enjoy a night out with games to brighten up your evening, or just sip on a brew on the corner as you try to relax and take in the delightful atmosphere, you'll find yourself enjoying your time and your drinks. Please come by, ESPECIALLY if you're on a date, it's quite romantic.

Read moreWe were there for our first visit thisnpast Good Friday.
They had a live band but we were there to enjoy the beer selection and check out the space. They have an arrangement with El Taco Santo next door to deliver food to you in the tap room. There's also a Jersey Mike's if you want to grab something to bring in.
Beer selection was a well balanced selection ranging from light lagers and ales to stronger high alcohol brews. I tried several local brews, my favorite was Historic Brewing Picnic Piehole.
We loved sitting away from the music which seemed overly loud in the small space. Concert level decibels really aren't needed in a small venue. The staff was attentive and the patio and staff welcomed several well behaved puppies with their humans. My favorite was a blonde pittie baby who was so sweet and so busy watching everything. She stayed next to her owner's leg and remained sitting even when a rambunctious labradoodle greeted a couple of lhasa apsos that joined the party.
The staff as I mentioned were attentive, kept everything spotless, and really knew the brews and wines they have on hand to help the customer pick just the right one for their visit. Their patio is one of the best we've visited recently. It's roomy with plenty of seating and has a view of Warner and Gilbert Roads to people watch...
