Somerimes the super good eats are tucked away in a remote area or just in an area you don't expect. This was the case for Lee's Teriyaki. We stopped by this place yesterday for lunch and it was probably the best decision we made that day. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and glad that we did as the portions are pretty generous. (TIP- order it to-go so if you don't finish, you can just cover it up and take it home for a second meal.) The chicken and beef combo had some good flavors with the chicken being moist and not dry (which you get at some places). We also tried the pork fried rice. This fried rice is amazing as there was so much flavor to it. The way that the pork is prepared and then mixed in with the fried rice is just wonderful. The owner mentioned that this was an addition to the old menu and that they have also added some extra items. Read moreLee's Teriyaki is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that does not disappoint. The egg flour soup is light and delicious and served promptly upon your arrival. My father and I ordered pork fried rice to share and two orders of chicken and grilled shrimp teriyaki. The fried rice was cooked very well and is very tasty, the pork brought to a nice crisp. The shrimp while slightly overdone was just as tasty, and the chicken was superbly cooked to perfection, with just the right crisp on the outside while still tender and juicy inside. Everything was promptly and proudly served with beautiful presentation. The owners themselves are very kind and proud of their establishment, and rightly so. While we are only visiting Oregon city, I will surely be coming back here whenever I am in town. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal...
Read moreUPDATE- Lee's teriyaki is my favorite restaurant in the Portland area. I left my original review 4 years ago when working in the neighborhood, and have since moved to the other side of town. I still make trips to Lee's as often as I can because it is simply the best food around. The owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, the food is unbeatable, and the price is too. Massive portion sizes, super tasty, and some of the best teriyaki sauce I've had (if only she would share the recipe!!!). I highly recommend the chicken katsu. Original review below:
