UPDATE JUNE 2020 First gym visit back. I went hoping for more. You had to make a reservation and only 30ish people were allowed in for an hour. Then they close the gym and sanitize before the next group.
They had not increased hand sanitizers of cleaning stations. There are still just two cleaning stations for the entire weight lifting area with more than 30 machines. A friend is at a gym where they each receive a spray bottle and rag. I alerted the staff to my concerns and they said that I could ask for a spray bottle to take with me next time.
The BIGGEST concern was that there were signs that masks were required but 1/10 people were wearing them. I understand that it’s difficult to wear while working out but, if you can’t take the heat… then STAY HOME as you have been doing for the last 3 months and workout BY YOURSELF, mask-free.
I did not feel I was within 6ft of someone but I felt uncomfortable being around unmasked persons especially as it is illegal in Clackamas County, OR. The gym had barely any changes aside from some signs on the floor. I was expecting everyother bench to be closed because when you change weight, you are within 6ft of each other. Over 100,000 Americans have died from COVID-19. Not going back untill masking is addressed @24hourfitness Lame. 🏋️ 🏋️ 🏋️
March 2019: This 24 hour fitness is new and has lots of space and windows. I've never had issues finding a parking spot. Even at peak times I'm able to accomplish my workouts. Members are courteous with sharing equipment. For how expensive it is it's not nearly as clean as Planet fitness. Most people do not clean off equipment as they go. The cleaning stations are often depleted, no paper towels or the hand sanitizer is empty. I really wish they had twice as many cleaning stations and hand sanitizers. The staff are all friendly and most are professional. The classes are good but often packed and the room gets hot. I like how close this is to my house and travel a lot so it's nice that I can visit other clubs across the...
Read moreChristmas time is here, but management kills cheer! ;( HARRASSMENT!!!...is that what you want out of a gym? That's all that I've recieved from a previous manager and now from some new person (Tasha) who ruined my workout and my workout partner's workout as well today! Within 5 minutes of showing up at this Gladstone 24 Hour Fitness today, I was pulled aside with "John, can I talk to you for a minute?" I inquired as to what about and Tasha (name I was later given when asking who she was) proceeded with a snide "Oh, I think you know." She then continued on with the mention that she knows I used to work for them (CPT for 24 Hour Fitness Gladstone at the very beginning of the club) and accused me of performing training for my friend I was working out with! She seemed threatened by my known expertise (like I would be taking clients away from trainers there or something) and let her insecurities of what she doesn't have to offer, play into a negative threat towards me (a regular paying customer...for NEARLY 20 YEARS BTW).
Long story short, WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF ARRIVING, I WAS PULLED ASIDE, UNJUSTLY ACCUSED, THREATENED (Tasha mentioned something about not being able to come back again if I was training someone there), AND not only my workout but MY FRIEND'S WORKOUT AS WELL, were both Interrupted, Ruined, and both of our days have been spent in irritation over the HEINOUS AND UNFOUNDED AND UNNECESSARY GRINCH LADY'S ACTIONS!!! All that said, I want to be sure to mention that this seems to have been TARGETED HARRASSMENT!!! and as such others coming in may hope to fair better than myself and my friend. There are some great people within Gladstone 24 Hour Fitness walls...BUT EVIL GRINCH TASHA IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!!!
P.S. It takes a HUGE UPSET to have me take time out of my day for a review like this. PLEASE take that to heart when selecting your workout location!
God Bless You All this CHRISTmas and beyond, and may you fair better than I should you still choose to go to Gladstone 24 Hour after...
Read moreAdmittedly i'm a member of East Side Athletic prior to anyone else reading this - I'll do my best to hold no bias towards my current club.
However my experience and initial tour of this new facility was bothersome. I wanted to check out the new location with my 10-month old to see if childcare and the facility accommodations could meet my needs.
So went on a walk with child in stroller, ready to see what was in store. I was insanely annoyed by the fact that I received no help to enter the doors at the facility while 3-4 folks at the front desk and just watched. (It's really hard to open a door with one hand and pull the stroller in with another. I might have laughed at myself if I was watching.)
The membership services gentleman I worked with was great. He was attentive, accommodating to my kid and not pushy - which was definitely a nice change of pace given that most of my experience with 24-Hour has the feel of working with a car salesman. Initial experience was not bad at all!
However - I received a phone call today no longer than 10 minutes ago of me posting this review from an associate named Joe. The conversation started pleasant but definitely reeked of earlier said salesman tactics. So a couple of bad things happened but I won't go into gnitty, gritty details to save some folks time.
To Joe or any customer service representative,
Asking someone who visited your establishment if they aren't interested in working out as a sales tactic does not work. It's an insult if anything.
Hanging up abruptly mid-conversation without saying bye and sounding annoyed at the fact that i'm not interested at the moment is just not good customer service. I wouldn't visit the facility if I wasn't interested.
I understand it can be frustrating to not make a sale but providing a good standard of customer service...
