So, yesterday I had heard that there was a new deli opening in Gladstone. The place was called the Italian sausage company. They had displayed an exceptionally delicious looking loaf of bread which I happen to have coveted. And I decided I would drive over and pick up a loaf of that bread and see if it's as good as it looks.
Unfortunately for me by the time I got there they had sold out of all of that bread. So, time for Plan B. So I ordered up a sandwich, I got the number seven which consists of ham, capocollo, salami cotto, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, arugula, garlic aioli, mustard, oil and vinegar, all on an Italian seated bread half loaf. I must say it was quite tasty, and large enough to easily feed two people. Half of it is sitting in my refrigerator and will be consumed for lunch today.
Everything was fresh and tasty, if you're in the area or if you live in the Gladstone area give this place a try it's worth it.
A very well done to the Italian Sausage Company.
Very well...
Read moreTook a little road trip (about an hour) to Gladstone to try the sandwiches at the Italian Sausage Company. It was worth the drive.
The person who took our order was amazing. She welcomed us in and helped us decide what to order since we were noobs. She made the experience amazing and everyone that was there seemed happy. Everyone waiting for their food was talking to each other! It was insane. So that was a great start.
Apparently the Reuben sandwich was voted the best in KC by the Pitch so I tried that. They use Wagyu corned beef for this sandwich and it was really good. I always want to be honest so I do need to mention that while the sandwich had an amazing flavor, the corned beef was a bit on the dry side.....don't throw stones....just my opinion. But the sandwich was still great and my kiddo loved his as well.
This is definitely a place you should try. I'm definitely going to return if I'm...
Read moreLike everyone else, we think the food and people here are outstanding. So we thought it would be helpful to let you know what to expect since they don't seem to have a website. The place is tiny with no seating but there are a few picnic tables outside, and they sell canned soda. The menu is just sandwiches. The woman working the cash register was happy to answer questions but it's still probably easier if you review the menu before you go. The sandwiches are generous but I had no problem finishing mine. Near the front there are cases with desserts and a few sides - once you've paid, reach in and grab for what you've paid for. Along the walls, there's a small assortment of imported goodies like pasta and chocolate. We want to try every sandwich they offer - we will...
