I was a little bummed out on my last visit to this place. I had been here before for sushi with my wife, two kids, and my in-laws. That was more than a year ago. It was busy, well staffed, clean, bright and the sushi was excellent. But this last time I went there was much different. At about 7pm on a Thursday, my wife, mother in law and I arrived and became one of only two occupied tables in the place. In spite of not being very busy, our drinks took forever (I don't want to be all pretentious, but seriously 12 minutes for two bottles of beer and a diet pepsi). Our order was large and took the normal amount of time to prepare. But our server was doing a really good "Forgetful Jones" imitation (yes, Mr. Forgetful Jones, the memory-deficient cowboy from Sesame Street circa 1980s). "Can we get the wasabi, please?" "Hey, remember that wasabi? Yeah. And I think my mother in law requested a fork. Yeah, thanks." "Oh hi, you're back. Listen, quick question for you: do you guys have forks? Yeah totally, understand but we'd like that fork, please. And the additional beer and veggie tempura, remember?" "So, uh, are you guys out of beer? No? Well, can we go ahead and get that one we ordered? And maybe the veggie things to go, please." "So, have you started the veggies from about 15 mins ago? No, then just scratch those, we'll take our check."
Anyway, you get the idea. Server was very nice, but gimmie a break. The sushi tasted ok, but it was clearly a less seasoned sushi chef. In addition to the old "not remembering what the one table in the restaurant ordered" trick, the place was trashed like a party had been there, with most of the other tables in different phases of not quite wiped off or cleared of dishes. And the floor had not been cleaned in a while. Total buzzkill. Because of all the 'oh sorry I forgot' racket, it took about an hour longer than necessary.

Read moreHusband and I came here for the first time having been referred by a friend. First looks is a small eatery divided between hibachi seating on one side and sushi dining on the other.
We had planned a half and half dinner since I wanted hibachi and husband wanted sushi. Can't do that. They wouldn't serve sushi on the hibachi side. So -1 there.
Husband decided to do hibachi. We were seated by ourselves which was fine. The terrible part came from the hibachi cook. This man never once smiles or acted like he was in a good mood the entire time serving us. He was sloppy in transferring food and didn't say when he was serving it. I was in the middle of fried rice when he dropped chicken on the plate.
His entire attitude was uncaring. He acted like he has bettee things to do than serve us. The food was decent but not worth his attitude.
We figured it was just him and ate our dinner. Now we ordered chicken and steak for myself and just chicken for husband. There is nothing on the menu that says shrimp comes with every meal. I have a shrimp allergy and since there was nothing that said shrimp was included, I figured we were safe. Nope. He came out with a plate of protein containing chicken, steak, scallops and shrimp, all touching. I had to tell him I was allergic and got attitude for not telling the waitress and he went back to the kitchen for new protein. I wasn't sure why shrimp and scallops were even there to begin with
All this we could deal with but when the other side of the hibachi got 4 people and the same cook came out to do them, he came out smiling and laughing, doing the flaming volcano and joking with them. Where we got nothing, they got a full show which is one of the main reasons to do hibachi.
I don't care what he was dealing with, the cook gave us a terrible time for no reason.

Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I’ll start by saying our Hibachi chef was amazing. That’s where the good things about this restaurant stops. I was there last week and we had a reservation for 15 to celebrate a friend who is having a baby. They 100% had a reservation. Half of our party showed up at 5:00 and the other half, that didn’t get off work until 5:00 came around 5:30. I was one of the ones who came later. Our server was TERRIBLE and had the worst attitude. They BARELY gave us enough room for 8 so when the rest of our party came, our only options were to “squeeze in or not do hibachi” which we had already ordered for because the grill next to us was “reserved”. The second I sat down the server demanded my drink order and was rude when I gave it to her. We got TWO menus for a 15 person party and was I was given an attitude when I told her that we didn’t get enough menus and didn’t know what I wanted for the grill. She very rudely yelled, “We have steak, chicken, shrimp….so make a choice. What will it be?” When the rest of our party came she did the same thing to them. When they took their time to look at the menu the server huffed and said, “The chef has been waiting for over 20 minutes to come cook, so you need to hurry up.” The crab Rangoon was cold and nasty, the soup was gross, and the salad had questionable dressing. When it was time to pay she literally threw the checks across the table and got irritated when I had to get my wallet out of my purse. Mediocre food and terrible service, I’ll pass. I 100% NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Do not waste your money or time. I will never...
