A while back someone posted in a FB group wondering why people had not gone to a particular restaurant. Their complaint was that there were no pictures or posts about this restaurant. I must admit they were correct, and I set out to do something about it. So yesterday afternoon I got in my jalopy, and I drove over to a café they call Hard Core!
When I got there, I ordered up a nice cold Dunkel and their version of the club sandwich. You see they take three slices of wheat bread and toast them to perfection and then they put onto that bread a good smear of mayo and on top of that mayo they put down some lettuce, cheese, turkey, and add the second slice and on that second slice they put a little more cheese tomato ham and bacon put the lid on it, drive a stake through its heart and cut it in half.
Holy Moly!
This is where human endurance is tested for you see that sandwich sits well over 3 and 1/2 in high! Even after attempting to squeeze it together, unless you have a lower jaw that you can unhinge, you cannot wrap your mouth around it. And when you do as I did and take a bite out of the bottom half and then a bite out of the top half, so you can get all of the flavors, I was amazed at how incredibly delicious and fresh this sandwich was.
This is an incredible sandwich!
Well done Hard Core Café
Well done indeed!
It’s a Thursday afternoon and I'm filling my belly with a fantastic club sandwich...
Read moreEDIT: We have now been here numerous times and had the chance to try more menu items! I upped to 5 stars from 4, because the food is great! I felt like I couldn't give it a perfect 5 after only one visit, but now I for sure can. This is one of our new favorites! The staff is consistanly awesome. Prices reasonable, servings appropriate and it's always clean!
We recently moved to the area and have been trying to find some new favorite spots. I saw this place by accident and told my husband about it. A month or two later, we are tired of the same old things, so we pull in to Hard Core Cafe. It is right next door to a bike shop, and the font used in the signs on both the shop and cafe give it a feel for a “biker bar”. Don’t be scared if all you know of bikers are the bad reputations made by TV. It isn’t like that at all. Inside it is well lit and VERY clean. Yay! It was a slow night with only two other tables occupied. One younger couple and one older. The bartender was extremely nice and gave us a little history of the place. The menu is pretty standard for bar food. We ordered a beer and cocktail and an appetizer of toasted ravioli with marinara. Tasty and priced reasonably. We will definitely go back and try more food. If you like a clean restaurant with very clean bathrooms, catering to mixed ages and styles of clientele, with fast and friendly service, this is right up...
Read moreAlthough the name is a little scary and conjures images of neck tattoos, fights, and slashed tires, we couldn't have been more wrong. Take a look at the pictures and you will see a nice, clean, fun restaurant/bar. Our waitress (she was also the bartender), truly seemed to enjoy being at work and gave us some ideas on what was good to eat. She also knew her beers (they have a nice variety). I tried the Big & Rich sandwich with fries. You can taste the roast beef, pepper jack cheese, and horseradish sauce, but didn't get any green pepper flavor. Not sure if the horseradish sauce went well with the pepper jack cheese, but that didn't stop me from finishing the sandwich. My friend got the Ruben and pointed out the ample amount of corn beef. His complaint was that the sandwich was in the panini press to long, so it had a slight burnt taste. His chips were house made and crunchy. Perfect for dipping. We both agreed that based on our experience, we looked forward to returning. This just made our neighborhood top list of places to grab a...
