I’ve had a few great haircuts with Isaac in the past (even brought him a new customer - Wesley H.) , but on 11/30/24 was a completely different experience. From the moment I sat in the chair, his attitude felt off. He seemed irritated, even mentioning how the Christmas music was bothering him, and projected that frustration onto me throughout the appointment.

I tried to be friendly and asked a couple of questions to lighten the mood, but he remained upset. At one point, he criticized me for moving my head—something that only happened once when he was talking to me before starting the haircut. Instead of politely addressing it, he made me feel like I was being difficult, which was unnecessary and unprofessional.

To make matters worse, he rushed through the service. He didn’t brush or fully blow-dry my hair at first, and when I asked him to dry it due to the freezing temperatures outside, he did a poor job until I insisted. For a $50 service, I expect respect and attention to detail, not to feel dismissed.

When I expressed my disappointment and told him he had lost a customer, his response was simply, “That’s okay,” which showed a complete lack of care.

Despite this experience, I may return to this barbershop, as the other barbers seem professional and my friends have had great experiences with them. It’s a nice place overall, but Isaac’s behavior today was unacceptable, and I won’t be booking with him again. Have been going to Les for about 5 years now and don’t plan on changing a thing. Whether I had my whole head of hair, the taper, Mohawk, and now my shorter hair, Les has always gotten things done right. He’s a barber that pays attention to every detail, as well as makes sure you feel at home in the chair. When it’s your turn the focus is on you. If your new coming into the shop there is a welcoming feeling, not like most shops where you awkwardly walk in and aren’t spoken to, or your skipped over and over because nobody cares to know who you are. No, with Les you feel the love the moment you walk in. Les and Edwin are both amazing barbers and even greater people. They are both trying to do something amazing with this company and it’s going to be crazy to watch the growth. The Retail shop they’ve got going on is something special as well. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bezhin at Catalyst Barber Co. for a haircut for my boys, and a beard trim and shave for me. I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by Bezhin and the other barbers; they made us feel right at home.

Bezhin not only has exceptional skill with the scissors and clippers but also possesses a genuine passion for his craft. He took the time to listen to my preferences and offered valuable suggestions, resulting in a haircut for my boys and shave and trim for me, that exceeded our expectations.
