This is the best food I've ever had at any restaurant! I went for the first time last night and I was very pleased! The waitress was beyond amazing. She was one of the best servers ever. She went above and beyond making sure we were talking care of. Anything we ask of her, she did with a smile and took care of it right away! She checked on our table several times. She had such a good attitude and knew the menu in and out! This food was so mouth watering good! We order 2 tables full of food and not one thing was bad. I highly recommend this location and promise you will not be disappointed. Doordash and more pick up here also. So if your unable to get there, you can have it picked up for delivery! We ordered crab cakes, red snapper, fish nuggets, red beans and rice, collard green, candy yams, egg rolls with baked Mac and cheese, collard greens, yams inside, and bakes Mac and cheese separately! Everything was fresh and made to order! I will 100% be a forever customer. Money well spent! Well done chef! I was dreaming about this food last night! Please make sure to check this spot out and be generous to the waitress! I felt so very welcomed for my 1st visit! They were very professional also. We ever had several conversations laughing with the waitress! I never knew of this restaurant but they do have a ton of info on social media and they have a lot of out-of-state customers that continue to come back! The food portions was the 1st thing I noticed! They are very large and every bite was delicious 😋 😍 I would give them 100% on the food selections they serve and the quantity and quality of food served. It's a small space, a top 3-4 small but kinda steep steps. Especially coming down. Nice art work adorns the walls along with that ivy-grass stuff a lot of places have been using. Be careful it catches your hair.

The fried chicken was delicious and crispy! The sauces that came with the chicken and French toast(it reheated well the next day) were absolute YUM! My sister even asked for more sauce once she tasted it and they sent her about a tablespoon worth of "extra" sauce, for the whole table! The kitchen needs more staff because they get overwhelmed pretty quickly, to the point they burnt premade French toast! Also at my table, someone ordered cheese grits🤦‍♀️... It looked like there was cheese in it, but couldn't taste it at all! They put dried parsley everywhere😒. The shrimp and grits... The grits again unseasoned, the what tasted like Creole sauce was missing something and had too much spice and salt! The shrimp were cooked beautifully though. The pork chop was fried really well, and was great! Cooked just a little too long for me but other than that I would order that again. You could smell that they needed to change the fryer oil very soon.

The candied yams-they were really good but needed a different sugar to break up the monotony of the strong flavor of the brown sugar, ALMOST too much cinnamon. Should be cut a little thinner.

The greens- excellent flavor! Too much salt for us.

The Mac and cheese- this is one of the best Mac and cheese's I've had at a restaurant, flavor wise. I would have liked more cheese. This Mac has great savory notes that I think it would be a great base for a seafood Mac and cheese.

Honestly total experience was a 3.8. My server was really nice, helpful and friendly. Most of the seating is small high-top tables, with about maybe 3 low-tops. Food takes some time to come out, that's because it's MTO. Pineapple lemonade was yummy. I don't remember seeing anything about alcoholic beverages. We would eat the food again, but...

So let’s start off with the positives. The inside of the place was pretty. The decor and colors were nice as well as the furniture. On the day we went it was freezing inside not sure if we went too early or what. Now for the service and food. The server we had was amazing! However this place is super small. No more than 8-9 little tables. Our server was literally running around doing everything! Changing the tv channel, sitting people, in the back making the lemonade, getting checks, checking on food, answering the phone like literally everything which definitely affected our service because we were missing condiments and had to wait for her to bring them. Or we had questions and she was the only one on the floor. They had a runner also but she wasn’t the best. There were four of us and each of our meals were missing something. Half of our food came out together and then the other half came out 5-10 mins later which sucked cause then either food got cold or someone was done eating when the other person just started. The kitchen window is literally in the dining room so you can hear the cook arguing with the server and etc. The day we went they didn’t have half of the menu items so that was super disappointing. To end it all my sister found a huge piece of glass in her drink and there was no urgency or confusion of how it got there. The owner just took the drinks off the bill as if that sufficed. This place is black owned and family owned which is why we definitely wanted to support but after this I probably wouldn’t come back here again. The food that we didn’t get wasn’t bad at all which also made this all frustrating because they definitely have potential I just think they need to pay attention in certain areas. It doesn’t matter how good the food is if nobody wants to come in to the restaurant.
