Mali Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Glen Burnie

Used to go to the Thai restaurant before it turned to Mali Thai, so wanted to try the new place.

Food: Pad thai and chicken satay were okay, but the panang curry was pretty bad. The curry was very watery. It lacked spice and saltiness, and was overly sweet. To make things worse the curry had broke/separated (see picture).

Service: I did take out through their website, while I was right outside their restaurant (estimated 45 min). I go in right away and pay. Wait inside for about 45 min for food to come out. No problem.

Server says online orders take longer. So I ask if I had ordered in person, when I got there, would I have gotten food faster. The server said yes. As I mentioned, I went in right after placing the order paid/waited. Essentially they knew I was waiting, could have made my food faster, but did not.

Price: Was not too bad ~$20/person. Spent $45 for all three items (2 entrees and an appetizer), plus a little tip (it was take out).

Taking into account the entire experience, it was not worth it for me. Probably wont...

I have a bit of a mixed review. This was our first time trying Mali Thai. We placed an order online and were given a 30 minute ready time. When we got there 30 minutes later they informed us that we were early and needed to wait. Okay no problem. But after 20 minutes of standing there I realized they just saw my order and started cooking it. The whole reason I ordered online was so I didn't need to wait when I got there. I could understand if they were busy but no one was there, no lines, no phones ringing, nothing. Now when it comes to their food, the fried bananas are AMAZING, I've never tasted anything like it. Same with the coconut ice cream. That was fabulous. The crunchy wonton were nicely crunchy but they had hardly any filling in them. The phad Thai was delicious and the pad see eaw was tasty but the noodles were all stuck together in one big blob like it wasn't cooked fresh. Would I eat here again, maybe, I'm 50 50 on if it was good enough to compensate for the ridiculous wait and the dishes that weren't...

I had only been to this restaurant once and had a pleasant experience. Today was my 2nd time and it was underwhelming. I placed an online order at 6:30, and it said to arrive in 30 minutes to pick up the order. I arrived at 7 pm. There were 2 people waiting who had already been help. I stand at the counter to be helped. No one comes for about 5 minutes, then 3 other individuals come in. We all wait for a few minutes then a woman starts asking the people behind me for their names. Bewildered I also offer her my name and she said okay. Everyone else has received their orders and a free drink. (One woman got 2 free drinks) Now standing alone I got the total for my order LOL and it’s now 7:42. (And now I have go back inside for the extra spring roll sauce I asked for) I like the food so I’ll try again one day but it’ll take a few weeks.
