Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings — Restaurant in Glendale

Ordered using the Charley’s App for delivery. 30 minutes later I get a text message saying the delivery was cancelled by the driver. I called the store and they said when the driver arrived my order wasn’t showing on their order screen but it then popped up after the driver left, the store then said that another driver was on the way to pick up my order and deliver it. Another 30 minutes goes by and I have yet to receive my order so I call the store again. They say my order still has not been picked up. Considering my order has now been sitting for at least an hour I just ask for them to cancel the order and refund my money. This is where it gets really bad. I am told that they are unable to refund my order and if I want the order cancelled I would have to contact Uber. I did not order using Uber, I place my order on the Charley’s Cheesesteaks app not Uber! They insist that there is nothing that can be done. The worker then says they will put me on hold to call the manager. 3 minutes later the worker gets back on the phone and says “My manager says you need to contact Uber to get your refund “ At this point I am extremely irritated but I hang up and look up the Uber phone number and give them a call. Of course because I didn’t order using the Uber Eats app they have no clue what I am talking about and cannot find my order, what a surprise. I call back to the store this time I am no longer friendly. I demand they figure out how to cancel and refund my order as I placed my order through them using their app, paying them not Uber. If they use a third party to deliver their food, that’s on them to handle not me the customer! The worker then gets an attitude with me saying that they can’t do anything and I should complain to Uber and not them. At that point a female gets on the phone and says they have never had a problem like this before and nobody has ever asked for a refund so they do not know how to do it even if they could. She then said the best thing she could do is take my name and number and have the day manager (maybe the owner) call me tomorrow. Never have I ever paid money to one company who then turns around and tells me if I want my money back I have to talk to a different company. This has been the worst experience and has completely put me off ever eating or ordering from this place again. It’s a shame too because I was excited to have this store in my neighborhood. I placed an order about 2 weeks ago and one of them was a sandwich with no cheese the young lady put no roll when I asked her why she had no roll she said that meant cheese. I also ordered a kids steak sandwich with no cheese or ranch and added lettuce and tomato. When I got home my sandwich that I asked for no cheese had no roll/bun I tried calling but the number doesn't work. I go back in the store yesterday and was attempting to order the same thing except this time I was told you can take off the kids sandwich but you can't add to it. I told the young lady I just ordered this same sandwich 2 week ago and she just looked at me. Needless to say they are not consistent, improperly trained and don't know the difference between cheese and bread. I will start by saying my gal liked the wings, and said the blue cheese sauce was amazing..

That being said, this was one of the worst Philly cheese steaks I have ever had. Not even as good as subway, and a mere fraction of what Jersey Mike's offers..

The cheese was hard and stretchy, the entire sandwich was dry, and had very little flavor for having onion, pepper, and mushrooms.. It was just very bland, and not a good sandwich..

The cheese fries were cold, and seemed under-cooked, and the cheese/keso sauce tasted like it was straight out of a jar off the shelf from the dollar store..

The entire meal tasted like it was from the food court at the worst mall in America, and the cost was super pricey for such a bad meal.
