I really wanted to give first watch a better review, because the inside was spacious and stylishly themed, and the menu had some uniquely prepared options. That said, several factors conspired to produce a lower rating.
The staff were pleasant but unenthusiastic. When we arrived, there was nobody in the front to seat incoming guests, and several people were waiting in line to pay their bill. It took many minutes until someone poked their head out of the back to see the people amassing at the front, and then a bit longer for the two people to casually travel it to their posts--one still sipping their drink. Once we were seated and drinks were served, the employee dropped the straw destined for my cup onto the floor, and rather than discard it, he placed it back into his cache of straws and got me a new one from the same collection. Had this one also been dropped on the floor? Not that I really mind, since they were all wrapped, but it was a very lazy attempt at providing a "clean" straw. The tray for the drinks was awkwardly left at our table, which someone eventually picked up on their way by. Again, not a big deal, but it stood out because this sort of thing does not generally happen when we go out.
While we waited for our food, our table was visited by some manner of unidentifiable insect. My other half said it fell from the ceiling, but it fell to me to crush it with a napkin and discard it. Maybe this isn't normal, but it was a noteworthy event in our visit and--again--does not generally happen when we go out.
The food itself was adequate, which is really all we wanted. The portions were large, and my chorizo and avocado omellete was quite satisfying. That said, it was not mind blowing. No hint of "wow" and nothing we could not have made at home, though I likely would not have thought to do so.
Overall, the place was OK. Not necessarily to be avoided if you are looking for something new, but there are many better...
Read moreGave this establishment 3 chances in a weeks time and here are the results. Each time we went here there was something wrong with someone’s food. The first time we were sat in Quinton’s zone early doors just opened that was a the best experience. The second time was mid morning not good we had a table of six (6) when the order was brought to us three (3) of six (6) of the group had to send back their plate because of food not being the way they asked for it. The waitress that brought the food was argumentative about how the food was prepared. She finally took the plates and brought it back better but still not right. They said it was okay did not want to make a scene. The third time we went and the eggs bacon was raw potatoes were crunchy/hard the wife ate a much as she could the waiter came back asked what was wrong he agreed took the plate and manager brought new plate of food. Every time we have been there the eggs were under cooked. The water in the glass vessel had so much foreign stuff floating in it. Everyone that was around us had pushed their potatoes to the side they didn’t even eat them. The so called toast was not toasted had cold butter on it. The waiter/waitress is supposed to be the last line of defense before you get your food these guys did not perform well. Will I go back probably not. I have came to the conclusion that this establishment is only good when the doors first open in the morning.
Update: The First Watch Team are very responsive and are working hard on resolving the issue my family and myself had. I am very grateful they responded promptly to my concerns. The family and myself will be visiting First Watch again. We really did not want to have to change locations being this one is very close to our home. We are excited to go and have a new experience and some great dishes.
A big thank you to the First Watch team for reaching out to...
Read moreThe food was great, to be fair they seemed very busy. I don't like sitting at the bar but that's where you put a single person I guess. Id never been there so I went with it. The service was okay. I know it was busy but I was clearly not really an important ticket. The gal that helped me was doing her best I think but she was busy. Food was hot and fast so that's nice. There is A LOT of food on the plate. I took 3/4 of it home. The check out was terrible. I do NOT like the QR code method of paying I actually ended up with my payment run 4 times then the check said unpaid so I went to the front and stood there (with others) for a very long time before someone came up to help people pay. So hopefully, the 4 charges drop off my card. It was very loud and I can basically tell you anything that was going on with the gentleman beside me. Very loud on his phone explaining how people are paid for services rendered. Haha it was a little funny. I enjoyed the food combo very much. Oh and they don't have any Splenda...only the green one which is gross but alas I paid $3.99 for a small glass of tea without any refills or offer for a to go. That's crazy. I had nothing to drink for most my meal as the glass of tea I did get, was about 4 oz of liquid after the ice. Now I'm pretty sure I could have had a refill but the woman working the bar was being run around like a crazy person so there was no way she could serve her customers very well such as getting a refill but to not even ask was well maybe she was just too busy. Overall, food taste good but the hectic stressful atmosphere was a huge...
