Red Zone Sports Grill — Restaurant in Glendale

We have been to this restaurant multiple times before with zero issues. We actually are regulars but tonight 2/22/24 we were sat with Yukie …as soon as we walked in she had an attitude I don’t know why but she rolled her eyes and tossed the menus down at our table. We chalked it up to her having a bad day.. then we saw her talking with other tables and laughing and smiling so we were wondering why she had a bad attitude with us. She was the rudest server I have ever had in my entire life and truly we were trying to be nice and saying thank you and not asking her for much because we could tell she was upset at something. She brought us our drinks 15 to 20 minutes after we ordered… we of course did not complain but she set our drinks down and spoke under her breath and acted as though we were bothering her and we even were overly thanking her for bringing the stuff out etc. she refused to interact with us, wouldn’t look us in the eyes, spoke under her breath and wouldn’t even come and check on us. We literally were scared to ask her for anything because her attitude was so bad. I have never in my 30 years of life experienced a server this rude and unkind. After were there for an hour and a half we asked for our checks and when she finally brought them out, we asked her if she was okay or if she was in a bad mood because it was so blatantly obvious she was upset at something. We asked if we did something to her last time we were here because we were genuinely concerned as we come here multiple times - enough so some waitresses know our orders. She said “ nope” when asked if she was upset and as we continued to ask her if we did something and ask her why she treated us the way she did (again THIS WAS ASKED POLITELY NO ONE WAS RUDE TO HER) she walked away as we were speaking with no apology or explanation as to what we did to deserve to be treated like such. Another member of our party decided to go inside and ask to speak to a manager because she literally would not tell us what we did and continued to treat us like we were less than… the member of our party spoke to a “manager” named Nate who laughed in her face and said “people have bad days” no apology or anything. This will be the last time we come here because we usually come to see a band that plays there on Saturdays come play. Never again. Thanks for ruining our evening, serving cold food and serving a HORRIBLE attitude for absolutely no reason at all. Stay far away from this place. I would love for the manager to respond to this and tell me what we did to that woman to get treated like low class citizens .. is it the color of our skin?? Like...

Updated review: This had become one of our favorites that we told others about. But we were disappointed this time and our previous time . It was my son’s birthday and he wanted to come here because he loves the atomic wings and the spicy bbq burger. It wasn’t even that busy but we waited a long time for our food. And then the burgers were messed up. We asked for grilled onions instead of the onion ring because of our gluten and dairy allergies. It had the onion ring on 2 of them and they had to remake the one with no cheese. Although it was fast so I really hope they didn’t just scrape it off and get my son sick. He did find a a small drop of cheese on it. His and my burgers were also undercooked. We asked for medium but they were definitely medium rare. I ended up barely eating half of it and taking it home so I could reheat it later. The last time my son came they messed up his change and almost shorted him $20. It’s definitely not the place we used to love. I think the quality of people has gone down. If we came back it might only be to get the atomic wings to go for my son.

We wanted a place that we could watch football and where we could actually eat with our food allergies. There was a 15-20 minute wait, which we were fine with since we could still watch the game while we waited. We also chatted with the hostess who was super nice and answered all our questions since it was our first time in. I got an amazing GF salmon salad. I loved the taste and texture of it all. My teenager had “the best hamburger he ate in his life”. Since he’s allergic to dairy and can’t have gluten, it was a burger with just honey bbq sauce on a gluten free bun. It was still the best burger. I had a bite and had to agree. My other son had the atomic wings and loved them. (Don’t know how he handled those!) Charlie’s Sport Grill

FOOD: I got the Sonoran hamburger it was very good except I saw what it looked like a small hair but my spouse wasn’t sure it was a hair so we didn’t tell the server, and I just didn’t eat that half of the burger. The fries were very good.

LOCATION: Charlie’s Sport Grill is accessible and has enough parking spots, they are literally side to side with another bar/pub.

PRICE: Average for the area but I think is price for a bar.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: I have mix feelings about the customer service. Our server was very nice. However the hostess was not. When we went to this place it was a windy and cold day. When we arrived the place was kind a busy I think they had a trivia game night and the hostess offered us a table out side. We asked if they were spots at the bar and he said “oh no you can go sit over there” and he pointed to a table in front of the fireplace which is fine but the way he said it was like he was annoyed bevy we didn’t want to sit out side in the windy cold day. Also, they food took 40 minutes to get to our table I was done after 20 minutes but again my spouse is a very considerate person plus he had ordered a beer. AMBIANCE/ BUILDING: The place looked clean but smelled very bad when we first come in, it smelled like puke. That should have been my fist sign.
