Food is delicious, good menu selection, im not sure whats going on with the service, if they hired new people or something, because it seems very slow service for all the people working, over 5 people working that day from what was seen, not sure if may be more in the back or not.Seemed rather slow service, but the place wasn't even that packed. My family and I go often, couple times a week, and I always either see different people on shift, sometimes the service is faster, other times the service is unnecessarily slow, but always just about the same amount of foot traffic, as my family and I go there often, few times per week. And no one even apologizes for the slow, long wait time, to call out your order or name for your food. (Im not referring to time of waiting in line to get order taken, im referring to time it takes to recieve your order handed to you or to get your item ordered or name called to come to front counter to pickup order. Also noticed, same staff calls name for other order w/other clients but doesnt on ours even after we had given it to them because they had asked but then don't call out the name on the order. it to them...not sure if this is a racially discriminatory staff, but for all the money we put into the company by being LONG TIME CUSTOMERS WITH MUTIPLE HOUSEHOLD FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT ALSO EAT THERE, this is not good service rendered to your customers when your customers arent all being treated EQUALLY. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, STOPPED PROMPTLY AND TO NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN TO ANY CUSTOMER, ESPECIALLY AS ITS HAPPEND MORE THAN ONCE AND OUR MONEY DOESNT HAVE TO GO THERE. AND THEN ITS SLOW, when it is slow, even when there's more people on shift at times, so it shouldn't be that slow. The first few times my family and I went, the time frame of speed and accuracy of the getting the food out on time was worth 5 stars. Lately, passed 4 months, the service has been significantly slow. There seems to be more chit chat amongst the some of the females on shift, rather than focusing on work ethic. My child, my family, on going, have had to wait on average nearly over 15 minutes when we only ordered 3 plain bagels with cream cheese. This is repeatedly on going. Not sure whats going on with the new staff or what not. Unacceptable behavior & wait time. Less chit chat, focus on work, timing, speed & accuracy. You have long term customers preparing to take their time & money elsewhere, as this has happend more than once, same experiences at the 1 Einstein Bagel location. The other location on Bell Road doesn't do this, you should see how clean, quick & professional they are. It makes it confusing to the customer when you ask for the customers name to call out the order but then don't call out the name for the order, how do I know someone didn't make a duplicate by mistake on the cash register on their end, or someone else's order via often many times, I have seen people order the same things. I can understand if the staff forgot to call out the order, but it doesn't seem like they forgot to call out everyone else's in same day, time, and same foot traffic and same sitting. We go there more than 2 times a week and this is an ongoing issue, recently for the passed 2-4 months. I wasn't going to write a review because I wasn't trying to complain, but it feels and seems rather discriminatory, when the mainly Caucasian staff calls the name on the orders to other Caucasian clients, but not to the Latino customers? This is on-going experience there. I don't have this occur with the other staff that is on shift that is of other nationality or ethnicity, only the Caucasian staff. And its not right because my family and I are always polite so we dont deserve to be treated differently just because some of the staff appears racist or discriminatory towards certain ethnic community. My family goes there to snack for a quick brunch, we go there often and have been going for years. This is unacceptable behavior. We do carry out, ITS 2024. Unacceptable behavior. The other Einstein on Bell isn't not...
Read moreI go to this bagel shop almost every day. The bagels are made fresh in-house every day. They are delicious, and the baker is nice & friendly. I also have a vanilla latte, and they are the best of any coffee shop I've been to– and I've been to most of them, having been born and raised here 71 years ago. Always been a west-sider. The staff always greet me coming in and tell me to have a good day when I leave. They know me by name by now. They are ALWAYS happy, friendly and professional. Especially with each other. They have worked together a long time and perform like a well-oiled machine. Yes, the place gets crowded, but they get the orders out pretty fast. Yes, the floor behind the counter can get messy, but it's because they are extremely busy, and they can only concentrate on orders until it eases up, after which they promptly begin spot cleaning and taking out the garbage. I have seen rude customers get snarky when they have to wait, but the staff remain friendly and patient. (That was a Saturday and 3 workers had called off.) Yes, they occasionally run out of bagels on very busy days, so you just go to “Plan B” and choose from what's left, but that is a rare occurrence. Yes, they start to clean up & put chairs up on tables when it's close to closing time and customers coming in have slowed to a crawl. I can't say enough good things about this bagel shop and the fabulous people who work there! I came in a bit sad a couple of times and Sara wrote a special note on my latte lid to cheer me up. It did. These are very special people who work hard at their jobs to give good, friendly service. If you get good service, leave a tip. They earn it. From your forever...
Read moreThe first time I’d ever come here, the avocado toast was all nicely spread and seasoned and they had baskets and baskets full of bagels to choose from. They were out of many options, including Everything bagels, so I opted for an Asiago avocado toast. I see now after taking a bite from the top half why the avocado wasn’t spread smoothly. It’s SO underripe it’s inedible. It’s hard and has a slight crunch, only slightly soft on the outermost dark green layer. I gave a piece of the avocado to my boyfriend to see if I was just being picky, but he immediately spit it out and said it was like mushy rubber. I know it’s hard to tell if an avocado is ripe before cutting it, but that avocado, if squeezed, HAD to have been hard as fk. Anyone with basic produce knowledge should be able to tell that a hard avocado isn’t a ready avocado, and it had to have been super obvious when he was trying to spread it. Maybe they go through too many avocados to wait for it to ripen, but, really, I’ve never had this problem with Einstein until today. I wish they would’ve just told me they had no ripe avocados at the moment, and I would’ve just gotten a cream...
