Was looking for a local sushi 🍣 spot with a happy hour (4-7) that didn't end at 6 p.m. when I'm finally off work. As luck would have it there was a place named Sushi Joint, about 2 miles from my home, with a happy hour that ended at 7 p.m.
Its tucked away in a strip mall, with a few other restaurant choices, massage/nail spa, a laundromat, & ample parking when we arrived @ 6pm.
Walked in saw that it was clean and roomy. We were greeted and sat right away at the sushi bar per our request. They were quick to bring us menus and take our drink order. After checking out the a happy hour specials and looking at the menu we ordered some beers 🍺 & HH cut & hand rolls.
I got to say the food was really good. The wife commented more than a couple of times how fresh the sushi was, how soft and buttery it just melted in her mouth 👅.
Prices were good too, even off-happy hour. Large selection of rolls and a good variety of fish. Large party trays are available. You can call ahead and pick up your order as we saw many people do. I will be back for more samplings of various...
Read moreI was really impressed with this place. The fish quality exceeded my expectations for a place of this size and honestly, you wouldn’t expect such top-notch quality from a small spot like this. Service was exceptional too. Our waitress, nicknamed “Milk,” was super friendly and gave us great service from start to finish.
The yellowtail jalapeño and toro sashimi are absolute must-tries; fresh, flavorful, and perfect in every way. They also had something I’ve never heard of before called a mango roll, which is essentially mango slices on top of rolls, and this was awesome (interesting blend of flavors). We also had the Yuzu-flavored soju, which had a great citrus/lemony kick. The plum wine was a little on the sweet side for me, but still tasty overall.
Definitely give this spot a try, it deserves way more...
Read moreHorrible workers, they expected a 18% tip for a $70 check. Sushi was bland. At the end of the dinner they told me they did not take AMEX and there were no signs or no warnings. It’s 2024 they should accept any type of payment. When I left with no tip due to the inconvenience, the worker came up to me in a rude way walked to my car and said why didn’t I tip which is very unprofessional as a restaurant. He talked in a rude way and said next time he can choose weather he gives me service or refuses me inside the restaurant. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Never in my life have I had a server walk up to my car and ask my why I did not tip. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. They expected too much for a small...
