This was the worst experience at any hotel I have ever had. I relocated to Glendale for a job and needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks while I waited for my apartment to be ready to move in to. I found this Extended Stay and though, more expensive, I figured it was worth spending a little extra money to stay in a better place. I was wrong.
When I checked in, I was asked what day I wanted to schedule my house keeping day because they only do it once a week here. I told them Saturdays will work best since I have a dog and need to take him out for the day while they clean. So Saturday it was. When Saturday came along I left the room for the entire day with my dog, but upon returning back to the hotel, no house keeping had been done. I called the front desk and asked why and they said they got too busy with checking in new guests and couldn't get to it. I then asked if I could get it done the following day and they said yes. Same thing, I took my dog out for the day and when I returned the room had not been serviced.
I had made a reservation and decided to extend the stay a little longer because my apartment was taking longer than expected, so when I went down to ask to extend they said they can't and I need to make a new reservation. I asked if I could keep my same room and they said yes. I then made the appointment and when I went down to check out and check back in the lady asked what day I wanted my room cleaned. I replied that I'd like Saturday and asked if it would actually get serviced and explained what had happened. She apologized and asked if I'd like it done on both Saturday and Sunday the following week and I said no, just Saturday, no need. When Saturday came, I took my dog out, but decided to call and make sure what time I could return to a clean room. The lady on the phone told me that they had gotten too backed up and couldn't do it that day. I said that it was really frustrating because of all the other broken promises and she just said sorry, she can't do anything. I asked if they could do it on Sunday then and she said no because my extended reservation was not a week long and they only service rooms that had reservations over a week. However, they had specifically told me they were going to do it when I checked out and back in.
That night, at 3am the fire alarm went off in the building and they had to evacuate the whole thing, completely disrupting my sleep. I get this part is not their fault, but just added a whole new layer to the already bad experience. I called that morning to customer care to explain what had happened and they said they contacted a district manager and that it could take up to 72 hours to resolve, but they will come to a resolution and let me know. It's been two weeks and nothing. Awful service.
I don't wish this on anyone. The job that I have requires me to stay in hotels 15 days a month, but I would never spend my nights with this company. I was excited to try it out and it was appealing that I could have a kitchen on business trips,...
Read moreI had 2 friends visiting from out of state, we did our research and read some of the bad reviews and the good as well, we decided to go on our instinct and booked a room for 4 days. Once we arrived the staff at the front was very friendly and helpful, but I think that's where the positive experience stopped. Once we were given the keys to the room we decided to check the room before grabbing our bags. When we got inside the room...let me just say this was the first time in any hotel I've stayed in that I was disappointed. When we entered the room we found long dark hair strands everywhere (bathtub, kitchen sink, inside the microwave, restroom sink, bathtub, and inside the bed sheets, we also noticed that the floor was extremely dirty with crumbs and dust everywhere. The counter and cabinets had crumbs and dirt everywhere, and the microwave had not been cleaned it had crumbs and hair inside. After we seen the room we left to go buy cleaning supplies to do our own maintenance but when we came back I noticed a baby roach on top of the kitchen counter which I killed right away and didn't say anything to my friends, but a few minutes later my friend went to use the restroom and found another baby roach come from one of the drain holes in the restroom sink. Overall this place is unsanitary, they have a card in the restroom saying that all points of the room were checked for cleanliness but whoever that was must have been lazy, blind, or both. Motel 6 places seem to be a little more on the clean side if I'm going to be honest. I thought I was paying more to have my friends stay in something more comfortable and to have a good experience in California but that was the opposite. We paid more for a dirty and unpleasant experience with the room, Motel 6's were cheaper but in all my experience I had not once seen a roach or dirt staying there.
Pros. *friendly staff *complementary breakfast
Cons. *Homeless people park in parking lot with a few cars that look like they been there for at least year.
*Hotel is roach infested
*Room was extremely dirty
*Non stop barking dog in the next room over.
If i could I'd ask for a refund but left it alone since I won't be returning. I never leave bad reviews but this time I felt the need to share this experience. This is unacceptable especially when other customers had the same experience as I did where management acknowledged the concerns they had and said they would fix the issue but this is false sinc ei never thought I'd come across this type of problem. One this is not how you run a business, place should have security, and a trustworthy cleaning crew especially for the money your paying to stay at a...
Read moreI was sent here by my travel agency. From the moment I drove into the parking lot I had an uneasy feeling but I encouraged myself that the plan was only for me to stay temporarily. I stayed there for exactly 6 days. Windows are open 24-7 in the halls, nothing is clean. In my room there were molded towels under sink in the cabinet of my restroom. There was dust everywhere that looked as if it had piled up for weeks! There were several hairs in the bathtub as well. I thoroughly cleaned the room myself. Then, Monday 8/29, after I worked a 13hr shift, my room was enter forcefully by 4 hotel staff members claimed they were doing a wellness check. I was mortified and pretended to remain asleep as I didn’t understand why a wellness check was being done since I was just in the lobby 2 hours prior because I had just gotten off of work! These employees were all male, they unhooked the latch, somehow unlocked the deadbolt from outside of the door. There was also an officer in my room, how can they forcefully enter my room without any just cause or explanation?! This forceful entry to my room occurred 3 more times because there was some miscommunication between my staffing agency and the front desk. The assistant manager is name Isai, apparently he told my company that he and I had an altercation- a blatant lie! There was no altercation only an unlawful invasion of mt privacy as I was trying to sleep after working the previous night. Instead of allowing me time to resolve it, by contacting my corporate office- Isai told me and my corporate office that there were suddenly no rooms available and that I was no longer allowed to stay on the property. I did nothing to deserve this treatment. I can’t help but think that it is because I am African American. I was met by 3 police officers and I was racially profiled by being accused of possibly having a weapon and I could not enter my room and I wasn’t allowed to pack my things. I was forced to stay outside in the hall while the hotel||Cleaning staff mishandled my valuables. I was forced to leave the property within 10 minutes of my items getting placed in trash bags. I am still unpacking and trying to process what I did to deserve such harsh and unnecessary treatment from the hotel staff and the Glendale police officers. I will be seeking counsel and suing both entities!!!...
