Not a review writer but I had to share this experience. I ordered (over the phone) General Tso bean curd and asked that the tofu be fried slightly hard. I said it twice and she read it back to me …twice. What I get is soggy and limp tofu that looks like it sat around for a few hours. I’ve ordered this dish from top china many times and it’s been done (close to) correct; but this time it was so messed up that I took it back. I spoke to a gentleman and told him how I ordered my food and asked why you would give me this mess that I didn’t order. He tried to explain to me about tofu and what happens when you cook it. Here’s the thing…I’ve made tofu many times, and yes you can fry it slightly hard…in fact, it’s a protein that you can cook like any other protein. I just wanted my food the way I asked it to be prepared but he told me he CAN’T prepare it this way. What he really meant to say is he WON’T prepare as I asked. Maybe he thought because I was black and not Asian that I don’t know how tofu could be cooked. So to end this review, I WON’T be going back to...
Read moreI've lived in the Woodmore for over 8 yrs. My husband ordered me shrimp in garlic sauce this past Saturday. This was my first time eating from China 88 . I couldn't scoop a tablespoon of garlic sauce out of the container for my rice,so I didn't eat the food that night because it was so late. I called China 88 the next day to retrieve some garlic sauce. Joe, the manager or owner asked me to bring the food back. All I asked was to pick up some garlic sauce. When I arrived and opened the my container Joe looked at my food and told me the food was cold and it had enough sauce. I told him it was not enough sauce for me and could I purchase some sauce. Clearly, this became an issue for Joean and he was not going to accommodate me as a customer I left there feeling disrespect and disappointed as he walk away from me laughing and speaking in his native language.Repeating in english that I had enough sauce. Wow! What happened to good customer service. If I was a man would he have handled the situation so...
Read moreOrdered Seafood fried Rice with Shrimp, Scallops and crab meat. Yukkk! The scallops were old/over cooked and rubbery….there were 3 total and they were the small bay scallops. Shrimp were the small 50-100 count, were watery and tasteless and there were 4 total. And the crabmeat should have been the star given the $2.00 up charge and it wasn’t real. It was imitation crab meat (pollock) mushy and completely tasteless. You could have at least seasoned it to taste like crab but it was disgusting…
Also ordered the Singapore Chow Mein (noodles) but hesitant to dive in given my horrible fried rice experience…will...
