It’s not the coffee isn’t great. The coffee is really great, as is every local coffee shop in the area. You can get great coffee at Maeva’s’s, the post, and various other small local places in the Godfrey in Alton area. Like I said, all great coffee choices.

The prime difference with Germania‘s is that if you happen to show up when all of the high schoolers are working, your lunch break/free time will be completely disrespected by them as they talk to each customer, catching up with what always looks like to be, other high school friends… instead of promptly taking the order making the coffee and checking them out as they should in there drive through. I can somewhat understand if you are going in store, but this review is in regards to the Germania‘s drive-through.

If you’re like me and adamant about giving people many chances before actually making a judgment call, you will show up time and time again hoping something different has happened. It doesn’t really matter how busy they are…

If you see a bunch of youngins in Germania‘s it’s not the day to go in my opinion, especially if you do not have unlimited free time. You are better off waiting until the weekend and walking into the downtown Alton location and ordering yourself a drink, fully expecting to sit there and wait forever. At least the Alton location the staff has had enough professional experience to understand professionalism and respect...

Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stars all around, they’re great! Their cinnamon roll Latte really does taste like a cinnamon roll. The first time I ordered it, I ordered a small size, and it tasted absolutely perfect! The second time, (I really need more caffeine) I ordered the regular size which is probably about 12 ounces of liquid. They use two shots of espresso in the hot regular sized drink, but if you want it to be iced then you will only get one shot of espresso. Because there’s more espresso in the regular sized drink versus the small, some of the sweet, cinnamon roll taste has given way to the espresso…maybe I will have them add some extra flavoring next time and tweak it to my taste. It’s amazing, and their tasty apple cider doughnut is nice and soft...

So the coffee is great . The staff are extremely nice and great to deal with. One thing I absolutely do not understand is why we are ordering at the window instead of at the intercom ?? It makes zero sense to order at window and pull up in front to wait for the order. First it is completely unproductive and takes way more time to move customers through . Second the workers have to bring every drink out of the store to each car instead of taking order at window and pulling up paying and receiveing coffee at window and eleminate all these extra steps for employees and if I'm honest inconvenience for customers.
