being someone who only worked here for a day and couldnt show back up because of how nasty it was. id advise at least maybe dont get the desserts lol. im not sure how the kitchen is but where the baked goods gets made. they didnt even have sanitizer water. i was the only one to wash my hands, they had me rinse thinfs then set the dirty dished on the floor right next to all the clean dishes. they didnt even have sanitizer water just dawn dish soap. i was told to rinse dirty dishes out in the hand washing sink. I guess they didnt care because they didnt use it. I was told to grab some chocolate chips and when i opened the container a fly flew out of the container. When i came back from break she advised me to get to work and grab the bowl. i went to walk to the sink to wash my hands and sbe said "no get to work. grab the bowl" so i disgustingly didnt even get to wash my hands after being outside in my car during break. the lady i was working with just kept wiping her hands all over her apron instead of going to wash her dirty hands. they then advised me to use my dirty hands and touch food directly to wipe icing off the place that was getting served or to scrape off the top of the flour when meausing it. It was all just very gross, and then in the end they didnt even have anything to clean the counters or equipment, that i was just told to grab a bowl or hot water and dawn dish soap. my house is cleaner then the kitchen and i dont even deep clean everyday like you should in a food place. I just cant get the place off my mind and am just genuinely confused how the place is still open or hasnt gotten in trouble for going against...
Read moreMy daughter and I attempt to visit Josephine's twice a year when she comes home from Wisconsin. We love the atmosphere and the food is usually delicious. We were there December 7th with a 1:30 reservation. After we were seated our server was right there and took our drink orders then returned for the food orders. We had to return one of the drinks as there was something white floating in the glass of Dr. Pepper. At 230 (45 minutes or so after we ordered our food) our server returned and we were told there was no soup available. The lobster bisque is what we came for (2 hour and 3 minute drive). We were told we could substitue pasta or fruit which we did. Later we observed other servers carrying soup to other tables. I ordered the Ham Special. It was to be served on a homemade onion roll with mayo & Freddi Joe's special mustard sauce, ham and cheese. My sandwiches was served on two dinner rolls, appeared to have 1 shred of cheese, maybe mayo, but no mustard and was rather blah. The dinner roll was ok, but was soggy. so I only ate the ham. On the positive side, my grandson thinks the kids toasted cheese sandwich is the best of anywhere else in the world, so he enjoyed his meal. My daughters club was ok, but not up to it's usual standard. I felt sorry for our server. I also realize the Tea Room was very busy. She did the best she could and comped my daughter's dessert. I am hoping there were behind the scene issues that were an unusual occurance on that day and hope next year when my daughter comes we will receive the service we expected and the food we ordered as we always have...
Read moreVisiting from Charlotte NC and this is a favorite of my aunts. She told me how much she enjoys the atmosphere, the shops and especially the food. Once we arrived I understood why she liked the atmosphere. It's such a beautiful place with various sized potted plants that line the walkways along with tables and chairs. When we got inside there were beautiful decorations with an eclectic, cozy feel, mantles with lamps and flowers and it was bustling with many patrons. The restaurant is fairly large and it's sectioned off with different colored chairs and tables that had small flower arrangements for the centerpieces. We ordered an Arnold Palmer drink that's served with sweet tea vodka, the crystal bowl salad with lobster bisque soup and a roll. I was impressed before we had eaten anything at all but once our meal arrived, I was in lobster bisque heaven! This was the best I'd ever had and the salad was filled with tomatoes, chicken, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, fresh fruit and was large enough that the 2 of us could have actually shared it. The roll which my aunt suggested I get instead of the muffin was homemade and absolutely mouthwatering. We ate all we could at the Tea Room and brought everything else home including a slice of key lime pie and angel food cake with chocolate mousse topping. After collecting our things and speaking to a couple other patrons we walked through all of the boutiques and took a few pictures in the garden outside. This is a perfect setting for anyone who just wants to have and I will definitely return when I come back to visit with my aunt. Thank you for a...
