This restaurant is an absolute gem. First off, I had the best conversation I've ever had at a restaurant. I had the opportunity to meet the 3 owners and learned so much about makes Pang Zi Noodle Shop. Not a corporate chain, no franchise, simply three Santa Barbara locals, with their love and passion for authentic cuisines, wanting to share their concept with the rest of us! The owners were so open, I learned they traveled to train at a restaurant in China, they attended Santa Barbaras famous Culinary Arts Program. On top of Chinese, they also have all worked with Vietnamese cuisine, perfecting their art of making Pho. Combining all of their experiences into one fantastic menu! I haven't experienced flavors like this in Santa Barbara before.. These aren't your typical items on a menu, these are dishes they've taken and perfected and is obviously made with love! Thank You Pang Zi, you made a fan out of me, you will see me in your dining room...

Hugely disappointing for my gf and I, feel like I was let down by the abundance of glowing reviews but this place was average at best. Noodles were exceptionally oily (seed oils?) and surprisingly flavorless. Paid 32 bucks for noodles and dumplings but I'd say it was worth closer to ten. Very stingy amounts of meat for the price, and although the dumplings looked appetizing in the chili oil, again no actual flavor, very one dimensional (heat, that's it).

Before we went we weren't quite sure what pang zi meant, but as soon as we both got the stomach pang zi, we knew.

Would instead recommend Nikka or even Empty Bowl for...

Really slow? Only order 1 pho and wait for 1 hour . To go is slower than dine in?????? Like how you guys manage to go and dine in orders?????

10/30- Today we want to give them a chance! The food is way better than noodle city! It’s perfect. We order to go thru calling them .

Although it still took 40 mins for pho and shrimp roll. But at least they call us back to let us know once the food were ready to pick up which is improving!

I know the owner works so hard and I’m so glad there’s another great restaurant! Decided to update my reviews here!

I believe you will have better operations once you grow! Will...

Pang Zi exceeded all our expectations. Dan opened this restaurant 2 months ago, and we finally found it. Right there at Hollister and almost Modoc. The food was fantastic. We started with Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls, so flavorful with a delicious peanut sauce. Next was the Mei Fun-Rice Noodles Combo, tasty, and I added a touch of Hoisin sauce on the table, sooo good. Great service from Dan, Anna, and the rest of the staff as well. We will be back in the evening soon for some Pho comfort food. We finished it off with Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Thai Tea, excellent!!!

I picked up togo order. They are newly opened. The foods have large potion and quality ingredients. I had the combination Pho, the Bun with pork and chicken. The Pho broth is very clean and clear. The meat is soft and tasty. Their togo container is the best for take out. I love how the meats and noodles are separated. While I was waiting, I had the Shrimp egg rolls and it was so good. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. It’s my new favorite spot. Highly recommended.
