Leader's Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Gonzales

Update: I went back in today against my better judgment after boycotting for close to 2 years.... BIG MISTAKE. I ordered a 2 piece with fries, onion ring, and gizzards. I was told it would take 7 minutes for my 2 piece, fine. I started seeing them put onion rings & gizzard under the heat lamp. I asked how much longer on my chicken, and I was told 5 minutes. So I asked for my items that were sitting under the lamp because I don't like my food sitting. I was told they couldn't do that(my food???). The entire time, there was a young man cooking food with long hair who kept wiping sweat off his face, wore no gloves, and was being very unsanitary. On top of it all, they came off very racist the last few times I've gone inside the restaurant. I'M DONE.

I don't come here much. Their food is ok; but today I was p* ! The line was long. My order was a small chicken gizzard and a SMALL onion ring. I almost ordered a drink but looked at the price and decided not to. My total was $9!!! I was like, wow. I hadn't even ordered a chicken meal, but ok. When my order was ready, I checked my bag and asked for a ranch dressing for my onion rings. I was told that would be $.38! Really??? I take out $ and have to wave the workers down again to get their attention, only to be asked by a particular young woman if I was waiting on her to get it. I responded again that I just wanted a ranch holding my hand up to indicate that I had the .38. I was then told that I had to stand in line to pay....I WALKED OUT! I understand that Leaders is in a rural parish, but they have a decent following in the Gonzales area so the prices are a bit ridiculous, but at least provide better customer service so people are still willing to patronize you. ...

This was my first and last visiting. Service was horrible. We ordered at 4:05 and didn’t receive our order until 4:40. The young man with glasses and hair tied up, told a lady don’t come back because she as soon as the chicken came up when went to the counter and asked for hers…they left her chicken out on her first visit so she had to come back for a second visit and sit and wait. Horrible customer service. He could have apologized and gave her chicken first. Many people came in after me and got their food first. One person had an 8pc, same thing I ordered and he walked out 5 or more mins before me. Too many people working to not be getting anything done in a timely manner in the inside. My chicken was very greasy and I didn’t get the right size order of rice. Got lemonade for my kids and it was disgusting....

Heard about this place had the best fried chicken and onion rings around, but to me it was the same as popeyes, onion rings were all smashed together and broken in pieces . Now to the service, I placed my order and asked for a all white 8pc, and asked if that was half breast and wings, the cashier told me yes. After waiting ten minutes for my order, I had to go verify that with a different employee, she then went ask, I guess the manager and was told no, 6 wings and two breast, I told her what the cashier said and still was told they will not honor that order, this place has no sign that says what pieces you get on any order. To me they should have honored the order and make note to future customers orders. Will not do business with a company that is this much miss...
