Let me start by saying that I don't like waffles... My husband does though, so I told him about this restaurant when we were talking about breakfast places to try. We ended up going this morning and surprisingly we both really liked it.
We went on Labor Day around 11-ish. The restaurant was full, but we didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitress came over to take our drink order, but we were ready, so we also placed our food order at the same time. This is the most amazing thing: before she was done taking our order, someone came and delivered the drinks we ordered!!! Someone actually received AND delivered the drink order before she had even finished at our table. Amazing.
Another cool thing, which will probably only resonate with vegetarians: I ordered the Big Omelette minus chicken, and the waitress asked if I wanted something else to replace the chicken. Normally, a restaurant will charge you the same price when you subtract the meat, and not offer anything else. So I thought that was pretty cool. I ordered extra mushrooms.
My husband ordered the Mashlette, but he wanted toppings on his waffles. She said he could get the same toppings as any of the specials for a small upcharge. So that was cool. He got the Piña Colada Waffle.
We were really surprised to see how much food came out. The portions are large. The food is delicious. I loved my omelette. 🥰 I wish the potatoes were a little crispier, but I did greatly appreciate that they weren't greasy. My husband said his was really good too.
Paying was easy and efficient too. The bill has a QR code and you can just pay with your phone. There's no waiting. I do wonder how the older population, who may not know how to pay by QR code, would feel about this though. There must be another option for those who don't want to pay by phone. I think everyone has a smart phone.
I love that this restaurant has taken steps to be more efficient and I hope to see more places thinking this way...
Read moreI love writing my reviews to small local businesses that I visit showing my appreciation and of course the food is important, but for me, customer service is the most important thing. I walked to this place and were greeted by the barista named Sabrina whom was the only thing good about my visit. She made the most delicious coffee and were very sweet and told me my server would be with me but no one came and took my order for minutes I waited and yes there were tables who were already eating and two servers were walking around making no eye contact with me. I was like ?? I worked at the food service for years and I know how it goes and could be the most understanding person, but the thing I don't understand is how would you avoid to serve ? Sabrina realized no one was helping me and she kindly put the order for me. They were training someone in the kitchen that's why my order took longer but again I UNDERSTAND it's completely fine with me because I was in their shoes before too. I could not even take a bite because it was very late for my lunch break and asked to-go box right away and left without eating. I wanted to give 5 stars for my food but since I was unable to taste it, I gave three for how good it looked. I am pretty sure it is delicious because of their hard work I wish best to the new cook in the kitchen! And again I am well pleased with the coffee and Sabrina's kindness but still I had to give 1 star for the service because it should not be like this. How sad because I was really looking into to be the usual for this place and I work in a big company near by and let my colleagues know about this place because it is so hard for us to find a good coffee place around here other than Starbucks, but I will continue looking for other places. I wish my best to...
Read moreWe stopped in for brunch after having seen the establishment while out shopping and I'm always on the hunt for new breakfast places to try out - especially if they specialize in waffles.
The food - The food itself was phenomenal. If I were rating on just the quality of the meal alone, it'd be an easy 5 stars. Everything was fresh and full of flavor.
The service - Unfortunately this is where things started to fall apart. Everything was made to order, a fact that's made clear when you're first ordering your meal. So we were expecting a wait for a our meal. However both our drinks and our individual waffles were brought out as they were completed leading to a very uneven delivery. Delivery of the waffles was staggered and my brother didn't receive his drink until everyone was nearly finished with their meals.
The establishment - Everything was very clean and very nicely spaced out. It didn't feel crowded, and even though there was a line when we arrived and i was concerned about finding seating, we were able to get a table without any trouble. However, the chairs themselves were very uncomfortable. If this was a fast food style establishment, that'd be one thing - but in a restaurant where there's an expected wait for the meal baked in to the experience, that's a bit more of a detriment.
Overall, while the food was absolutely fantastic, everything else was just kind of okay. If the food delivery was just a little more consistent, and the seating was just a little more comfortable, I'd probably return. But as it is, I'm just more likely to go somewhere that the overall experience is...
