Best Western Phoenix Goodyear Inn — Hotel in Goodyear

DO NOT STAY HERE!! As soon as I walked in, we were greeted with the most unwelcoming front desk manager, Ashley she had the worst attitude. My family and I were visiting on a weekend getaway for our mom‘s birthdays and asked for connecting rooms at booking. My cousin mentioned this when we checked in Ashley practically snapped at us regarding this request. This request wasn’t even a big deal as it was only a request. Then she charged my card for their reservation suggesting I Just zelle them to make up for the difference to avoid Ashley from having to correct it on her end, we went up to our room waited a good 30 minutes for the room to cool down. It was 117 in Phoenix that day room wasn’t cooling down so I called the front office. Ashley said we can go down to get keys for a different room so we did , room 214 but the keys wouldn’t work and there’s beer cans in front of the door and around that area so I thought maybe someone was in that room and she messed up so I called again letting her know that the keys didn’t work and asked for someone to run up keys that do work that’s when she snapped at me screaming “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO I AM THE ONLY ONE DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW I CANT JUST TAKE YOU KEYS!”. She did not have to respond that way she completely lost it LIKE SHE HAD A BREAK DOWN OR SOMETGING. I asked to speak to a manager. That’s when she told me she was the manager. I advised that I would be asking for a credit or reimbursement on the room and she told me no she will not be doing that because she’s doing everything she can to the best of her ability to rectify the situation that we need to run down there to get the keys and if we didn’t like it then we can check out and go stay somewhere else. Those were her exact words!!! Maybe if they would change the air filters in the room, we would never had run into this problem mind you we were in three different rooms and not one of them worked. Eventually was then moved again to 209. Same issue!!! And There were bugs on the floors the floors look like they hadn’t been mopped in years other peoples hair still on the wall Handle to the bathroom shower was falling apart, broken windows, and a very distraught unprofessional front desk manager . Best Western should be embarrassed, having a front desk manager with that type of attitude. I submitted a complaint to corporate as no one in this location seems to care about what happened and refuses to credit us. we ended up checking out hours later didn’t even complete our stay. I will absolutely never stay here again. I had just flown down to pheonix to stay to hang out with family for a week. I have stayed multiple times in the past and was always welcomed and told I can stay here even if I’m not 21 yet just barely turning 20 this Monday. The policy wasn’t changed or told to me when they have on file that I’m under the age of 21 when just a month ago I stayed with them saying it was 18 and older. They never notified me once even when I asked they said I could stay when called over the phone and asked them. Update: I found a best western in tolleson they had given me a discount and apologized FOR the one in Goodyear. I wasn’t stranded in the desert and thank goodness because of the 110 degree weather is potent. Still disgusted with how I was never told or given a call after countless times of check ins with them and more thanks for almost ruining my birthday best western in Goodyear! (Thank you to the owner responding to my review but however after calling not only your hotel and many other best westerns in the state most are 18 and up and you guys had just updated your policy and never notified people of said policy like in the best western app per say. Like I have said I have stayed at your hotel twice in the past and HAVE called before what would’ve been a current stay you guys did state that I can be under the age of 21. I also had booked my stay a MONTH in advance as well. I appreciate your reply but I had to go out of my way to find a different best western in the nearby area because it is one of the only hotels that do take 18 and older. As someone that is young and traveling to figure out my future find a new apartment and more I was stranded with no car or anything and was lucky to have found another hotel with availability at the time and have my significant other that has a car there as well. I do not appreciate how I was treated at the front desk either. I had amazing experiences in the past from you guys. But this is the last straw for me being stranded as a FRESH 20 year old at the time was not what I had seen happening there. My apologies for being rude but truly what a bad experience this was. Mind you the lady at the front desk at the time had also never once offered me other places to stay or had offered to contact a manager or more. My name is Bertha Chavarin-Penuelas. I graduated from Agua Fria High School. I’m a single mother of two kids. I’m a very hard working women. I will always do more than expected anywhere I go. I used to be a house keeper for Best Western for about 6 months. Today I finally had enough. Theirs multiple reasonsns on why I left;However,my first reason was because of the head of housekeeping. She is a liar who believes her own lies. In other words she’s a compulsive liar. She’s also very manipulating. She would go around telling each housekeeper lies that the other house keeper said so we would all hate each other. At first when I was new I would believe this women,but as months went by I started to realize that they were all lies. She even told lies about my own personal life to the other housekeepers.This women is evil. She told everyone that I punched her and pushed her. Never in a million years would I do something like that. I can see why women don’t last here. My last hotel had tons of housekeepers but this hotel doesn’t and I can clearly see why. She’s evil. This is not something you can fix,this is a disorder. “You can’t be happy aroung unhappy people.”

My second reason on why I left was because it’s very unprofessional. The head of house keeping which is Noemi Rivera only checks rooms when she feels like it. Most of the time she doesn’t. I have observed this many times. I Left food inside the fridge on purpose to see if she really checks. I went back with another housekeeper who has been there for years and the food was still in there. This was after she checked. I can see why we didn’t pass the state inspection. This women is basically just getting paid for doing nothing. At the other hotel that I’ve worked at I would see the head of housekeeping helping with at least something. Never have I seen this women help with anything. Even when I had 20 rooms she wouldn’t even ask me what do I need from the laundry. No help what so ever.
