UPDATE REVIEW!!!: still amazing as ever. Added more images below, but amazing sushi. Love their hibachi. Naomi roll please give it a go. Ask for the chili garlic sauce!! We came here and were back for more within three days! From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you enter and go to the seating it is much nicer. The lighting is darker and the music is not too loud. Consistency is key with me when I review a place this place was great and we even had different servers and cooks between the times we came. Let me say this sushi is so good. I have found a favorite roll in the few times I have been. The naomi roll, something about that spice they put on top of the tuna is so amazing. has a smoky umami flavor that I really enjoy. The rice, something that is ususally thought of last in a sushi roll around here, was seasoned so well had tangy rice wine flavor with sweetness of the rice to balance, bravo. The unagi roll (we love eel) was delicious sweet and briny deliciousness. We had several rolls that were all shockingly good, dancing roll, white tiger, crunch roll, naomi roll, unagi roll, arizona roll (yellowtail was so fresh! had a smooth mouth coating feel to it, really wonderfully simple roll). Then we also had the hibachi. My husband was so shocked! He said he had never had steak so tender in hibachi in his life. He got medium rare two times and it was perfect. The hibachi vegetables have this intense flavor (from the grill I assume) that is just iconic hibachi flavor. Absolutely loved our food right down to the yum yum sauce which was balanced well, not too garlicy(like I have had at other places) and not too sweet which can also be a problem. Our service was top notch! We came on a Friday afternoon and a Monday evening, both times the service was outstanding. Attention waitresses who know what they are doing. Sushi chefs! ahh. well done bravo! Cooks in the back, well done! Thank you for our experiences. We will continue to come back! If you are thinking about it,...
Read moreMe and a buddy landed here after doing a google maps search for "japanese." You see a lot of Chinese places around, or even broadening it out to Oriental food, but few places are specifically Japanese. That immediately intrigued us.
We stepped in to a small, sort of hole-in-the-wall-ish establishment. It's clearly geared toward take-out, but has a nice sit-down area as well, beautifully (while simply) decorated with Japanese "picture" sort of things. The food is delivered to your table with amazing speed, while fresh at the same time. I don't think I've ever waited a solid three minutes for my food to arrive. Touching on that, the food is great. The meats are cooked to perfection, the rice is very unique, it's just great. For the price of it all, I've never paid over $10 for an entire meal.
I've talked it up enough. I don't have a single complaint. The food is great, the staff is very polite (the first time in there, the waitress joked around with us a lot, and she remember me by face now), and it's all for a reasonable price. I recommend the teriyaki...
Read moreWe used to love this place. It’s been wonderful, especially doing pick-up during this quarantine.
We just called to order our food, and last time they forgot something in our order. To be honest, it was only two sodas, so no big deal, but I was told they didn’t have a credit for me. I assured them that I spoke to two different people about it beforehand.
The young gentlemen put the rude manager, or owner, on the phone. She immediately said “I have no idea what you are talking about” when she answers the phone, and had a condescending tone. “It’s only two sodas, fine, I’ll give them to you” - I told her that I didn’t want to the soda, that I was told I was being given “credit”, and just wanted to use it towards our meal.
She continued to argue, so I just told her I wasn’t going to order food from them.
I don’t know if they are under new management or ownership, but they definitely lost our business, and my family’s business, whom also order from there frequently.
