There was no mention of the trains that basically sound as if they are coming through your room every 10 minutes...all night long or that the forgot to inform their housekeeping staff that in fact cleaning and sanitizing each room after a guest checks out isn't merely a suggestion but something that is part of their job requirements. Or that in order to properly turn a room over, it takes more then them just taking the little trash bags out of the tiny trashcans and throwing new ones in there and they damn sure were never trained in how to do their jobs because I am certain that this room that I just reserved for the next 3 nights with my husband who is having tremendous and severe right knee pain due to a torn ligament that has to be surgically repaired has not been touched by any type of cleaning product in more than a few months, if that. The urine and feces covered toilet, slimy, dirty and disgusting sink and counter, soap and hair covered shower and bathroom floor that was completely covered in dirt and hair from front to back kind of gave it away but also the dirty, foggy and food, toothpaste and God knows what splattered mirrors and if I stop to think too long about what all the dark and yellow colors stains are on the splattered all over the bathroom wall, especially around the toilet area, I'm going to no longer be able to keep the tiny amount of dinner I was able to get down after I completely lost any desire to bring actual food through that door into this filth covered room. Spend your money on a room that your not paying to clean and sanitize yourself before you feel even slightly okay with using the toilet in it. And yes in addition to paying $300.00 for the next 3 nights of deafeningly loud trains charging past only feet away from our room, I also had to then go spend another 40.00 on heavy duty cleaning products to use on the filth that covers this place from one end to the other. Not to mention I actually own my own cleaning business and because I have eyeballs to see that the dirty things need to be cleaned, that is what I get paid for, I am very good and detailed at what I do. Which is also why I make on average $60-$75 an hour doing what I do. And by me spending the next three hours of my time, energy and products to clean a space I paid to already be cleaned and ready for use. Altogether this short visit to be here for my mother in law to have back surgery has cost me well over $500.00 just in the hotel. I've been up since 800 Saturday morning and was already totally exhausted but my husband is so much pain he can barely walk so I wasn't about to make him carry everything back to car to find a new place for the night. I'll deal with that tomorrow after I email headquarters and the BBB with my experience here. Thank God I happen to have had a flat sheet in my car that we could throw over the bedding because Im sure that hasnt been changed in weeks if not months either. Oh, and I will be having a word with the day front desk person, the manager and the house keeping manager tomorrow at some point as well.Totally...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe man at the front desk wasn't there when I arrived. Tried to charge more than was quoted but after I explained my husband had already called and got a price, he took 50 cents off his offer. š the room was clean and stocked the bathroom had pieces of what looked like wood particle board clumps on the floor behind the bathroom door. I didn't bother to complain because I just wanted to rest. Floor, was clean, walls were patched up in some area, but painted over. The bed was clean but there were burn Mark's in the sheets and the remote had no batteries, so I had to call down to the front desk to ask for some. The clerk seemed surprised, so just pushed that aside as a mistake. I woke later than I intended and while showering I could hear the phone ring, my husband answered, the person on the other end stated, not asked..."You're checking out Now, right?" My husband informed them we were and attempted to advise, that we woke late, but kept being asked the same question when he tried to speak, so he got frustratedand said, 'yes, yes, baby you gotta hurry because these people are crazy!" Every time I triedto tell them we got up late and needed a few more minutesI got asked the same question.' So we rushed to get out of the room and in doing so, I left behind my floor length cover. When I called to let them know I left it, I was advised by the very unfriendly receptionist that 'it wasn't turned in and 'they probably threw it away.' Suffice to say, that is not a people friendly place to stay. They don't value, (in my opinion, ) their customers nor their customers belonging. Back when I was in the military, hotel stays at Econolodge, were a luxury at an affordable price, now they are priced so high but have the service of the old $49.99 price and those people who were from that period had the customer service skills tha the reps now should have. That is backwards, Econolodge needs to do betterš The ONLY reason I rated it a 2 is because they did have a clean refrigerator...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter reading some reviews and having stayed at a few other Econo Lodge locations I was a bit reluctant to make a reservation but I went against my instincts and booked anyway. After staying 2 nights I must say that I'm so glad that I gave this Econo Lodge a chance! This motel is 100% Aces in my book! I arrived well before check in time and the people at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure a room was ready for us, even going outside to physically verify with housekeeping that a room was ready as well as going to the room in question and checking for themselves that the room was complete and satisfactory! The check in process was quick, staff was kind and courteous and the & room was OUTSTANDING and completely surpassed my expectations! Bedding was clean, floors freshly mopped and bathroom was clean with extra soap, shampoo, other toiletries and plenty of towels! The morning of check out i was running behind so i called front desk and without hesitation or monetary compensation they graciously gave me an extra hour to check out! Overall the Econo Lodge in Goose Creek gets my vote and approval 100% This is without a doubt the best Econo Lodge I've ever stayed and honestly one of the best, cleanest, nicest and accomodating motels, not to mention reasonably priced motels I've come across yet. I don't give 5 stars often but this place truly earned and has my 5 stars. Thanks for making my stay so positive and pleasant...
