Goshen doughnut — Restaurant in Goshen

I used to live in Southern California (doughnut shops on every corner) and a block away was a doughnut shop. To my family and I it had the best doughnuts we ever had before. Maybe a couple times a month if I woke up before everyone, Id quickly walk over and bring home a dozen of our favorites in the signature pink box. They were always fresh and still warm if I timed it right. And as each person would come downstairs they'd say the same thing. Yay doughnuts! because of the box.

We tried finding our new "go to" doughnut shop when we moved to Goshen but nothing could compare to "the doughnut ladies" back in Cali.

Years go by, and one day I'm randomly wanting a doughnut but something fresh and worth the drive to get it. So I'm thinking maybe Elkhart has something we haven't tried and I goggle doughnuts near me and Goshen Doughnut had just opened up 4 days prior. I heard nothing about it before, apparently it was destined I have a craving that day.

Once again like so many years ago, if Im up before anyone else I'll go get a dozen and one by one as they wake up and walk into the kitchen I hear Yay doughnuts! and I smile remembering my younger self and family and how even still after everything life has hit us with, we can still get excited...

I’m all about supporting small businesses. My first experience here was not great so it took me a while to go back and give them another chance. The product is fine, but the customer service is honestly horrible. The lady there just has the most uninviting attitude she slams everything and seems mad. Both times I have stopped by I say good morning and I get no response. I had asked for a half dozen box and she was giving me a dozen box and when I stated I just wanted six donuts she seemed bothered and slammed the glass doors. Some of the best doughnuts in goshen. For a half dozen, they are only $0.25 more per doughnut than Martins, and the quality is much higher. Very friendly couple were running this when I came in, quick and smiley! The guy at the register reminded me of George Takei, absolutely not a bad thing! Very clean and quaint. Recommend trying this place, you won't regret it, get there early, I mean real early, I got there at 8am and they were already out of...
