We had high hopes for a pleasant weeknight meal, but ultimately were disappointed. Our server was attentive and polite (until things went wrong) and the atmosphere was comfortable. We shared the potato chip nacho app which was sub-par. The house-made chips were not fresh, and the accompanying cheese, guac and salsa were flavorless. Of our three meals, one was "just okay": a turkey burger that was served not quite hot enough, and a large portion of fries, again not hot enough. The second meal, was "not good": the steak tips came out not at serving temperature, and the side dish of brussels sprouts were overdone. The third meal, a scallop dinner, were straight-up bad. They were seared on the outside and raw in the center: entirely cold and iridescent in the middle. After spitting one out and sending them back to the kitchen with our server who was apologetic and understanding, things took a sharp turn for the worse... Our server never returned to check on the other meals, and the replacement scallops took an exorbitant amount of time to replace. By the time they came out, the other two meals were finished and we chose to pack the replacement meal to go. Our server scattered away after offering us a dessert to make up for the subpar meal, which we were not interested in (either before or after it was offered). At this point, the hospitality completely stopped and there was no further attempt to make right by us. Although the owner/manager was in the doorway of the kitchen and entirely aware of the scenario, they never came to our table to apologize or attempt to right the situation. After reading other people's reviews and seeing that when things go wrong, management suggests that customers ask to speak with them in that case. If I may make a suggestion to management: if something goes wrong and you are aware of it, the customer shouldn't have to ask for you - just come to the table and take ownership of the situation. The final straw was a general feeling of coldness and indifference by the staff. Not one person (our server, manager peeking out from kitchen, hostess, bartender, or other server) said "thank you" or "good night" as we left. Given the fact that even chain restaurants greet and thank their customers, I would hope for the same here. In closing, we had high hopes that the new local spot would live up to its unique (not moderately-priced) menu, yet left entirely let down. It seems as if ownership is aware of problems that we experienced, as ours mirror others who visited before us. We just hope that management will take these reviews seriously and adjust accordingly, or the Grafton Grill will not be long...

We were so excited to try the newest restaurant in town! We opted out of trying it during the hype of opening night because I assumed that there'd be kinks to work out so we waited a several weeks.

As soon as our server came over she asked if we had any dietary preferences or food allergies, which o thought was so awesome and professional! I told her that yes, we are vegan and thanked her for asking. We ordered the house made chips for an appetizer, my husband and I ordered veggie burgers and my kids split a bowl of pasta. We ordered pretty simple meals and they were not busy at all so I assumed the wait for our food wouldn't be long. We were wrong. Our appetizer which was just chips took a good 10 min and after about a half hour I had to call the waitress over and ask if she could check on at least the kids pasta because they were getting cranky hungry. Theirs came out about 5 min later and ours about 5 min after theirs.

Regarding the food, I have to say I was a teensy bit disappointed. The house made chips were cold and tasted at least a day or 2 old which was a bummer because we love house made chips at other places. Our veggie burgers were a mild disaster. My bun was grilled in butter (not vegan) and was missing the onions and my husbands was not even a veggie burger! He was served a cow burger which the waitress assured us was in fact veggie. Well it was definitely not and she did apologize profusely for it and his was remade and came out about 10 min later. We also ordered truffle fries that came with cheese on them (also not vegan) which was no biggie we just swapped them out for new ones with no cheese. The kids pasta was fine it just kind of stunk since we didn't really get to eat dinner at the same time.

The last thing I'll say is that when we got the bill we were kind of surprised at how expensive it was which is super rare for us to complain about (I actually feel sort of tacky doing it) because we don't ever mind paying good money for our food. I hope that they work out all these kinks, especially educating their servers about vegan diets considering they seem eager to accommodate alternative diets. I really want this pace to do well and I will absolutely give it another chance and edit my review if...

Because Zero stars is not an option... I work in Grafton and wanted to try out some of the local restaurants and see what the hype was about. I went here yesterday with my friends for dinner and there a few things that the Grafton Grill should really improve on if it want's to convey a classier image to it's customers.

I really loved the menu because it had a fair amount of entree options without being overwhelming I had to look at it for quite a while because the restaurant was poorly lit. I had the chicken with asparagus and smashed potatoes which was to die for!

Our service was very slow. After my party had arrived our waitress (Michelle V) waited about 15-20 minutes before coming to our table. She was friendly enough at the time and we ordered and waited for the food while we sipped on our drinks. The moscow mule they serve was pretty good.

Our party played with the table that unsteadily rocked back and forth due to the uneven and poorly installed flooring in the back of the restaurant. The dying terrarium plants were a nice added touch of decor near the bar with the smudged and stale vat of old sangria.

When our dinner concluded and Michelle V. took our cards she openly scoffed at her perfectly acceptable 15% tip to her other coworkers directly in front of our table and said "can you believe I only got....." her whiny voice trailed off into the kitchen. Later we saw her chain smoking outside angrily as we exited the building....Classy.

I will never be returning to the Grafton Grill again....sorry to say and feel bad for any other customers looking for an elevated experience only to...

We had not been to the Grafton Grill in a while so we went this past weekend. The service and atmosphere were top notch. The food was good. For an appetizer we got the boneless chicken wings with chilli miso sauce - the flavor was great and there was way more food than we expected but I am pretty sure they were frozen. Not a terrible thing but I felt like this was a bit below expectation. The fish tacos were excellent and, again, almost too much food especially since I got 3 tacos and a side. The flavor and texture were excellent. The pad tai had really good flavors but the noodles were really under cooked and there was a lot of liquid in the bottom of the bowl. Maybe the kitchen was rushed. It was good the day after, cooking the noodles more. Overall a good experience and good food but not great food. Prices seemed really reasonable.

Then ordered meal from specials, didn't come as described.... once delivered , sorry we ran out of this and that....then cross it out from specials!!!! Which BTW are not cheap!! Oh and friends pizza was not right , but she didn't say anything bkoz I was very vocal about my meal..... very disappointing experience, alertizers were awesome....and if you read my reviews I love good food , and 95% of the time I give five 5*****... but not here

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Massachusetts. The food is always amazing, the portions are solid, service is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant. One of my favorite aspects of the restaurant is that many dishes are available gluten free yet taste amazing. Their gluten free pasta bolognese dish is the best I’ve had anywhere in the U.S. The fish tacos are also pretty incredible. Honestly, the only downside to this place is the parking situation when it gets busy. Also, I wish they made larger gluten free pizzas. I ordered one to go last week and it was so small I had to make something to eat afterwards because I was still hungry. It’s also strange because every other item on the menu is a good size. Oh well, no one is perfect, but the Grafton Grill comes close.
