This was the WORST dining experience I've ever had. We chose this restaurant for a moms night out. I was the first to arrive. The manager was extremely rude when I told him I was meeting others. No smile, he just TOLD me to go wait in the bar. Ok...maybe he was having a bad day. I let it go. It only got worse from there. It was like pulling teeth to get waters. They brought out one basket of stale chips and enough salsa for about a quarter of the basket, it you were very conservative. We asked for another basket, and it took forever for us to get it. Two people ordered fajitas, and they got no side plate to make the fajitas on. I ordered a margarita on the rocks with no salt; it was served with salt. 2 people ordered a small pitcher of strawberry margaritas, and they got lime. We were not checked on the whole meal. Food was mediocre at best. All of these things I could have ignored as maybe on off night, and gotten over it. But then came the kicker. When we arrived, we asked for separate checks (the menu asks you to ask for separate checks before you order, which we did.) She forgot to separate the checks, and brought out a single check. We noticed that she didn't charge for the small pitcher of margaritas...it was instead listed as a large glass of margarita. We were honest that we were undercharged and asked the waitress to please separate it out for us. When she brought it back, she again didn't charge us for a small pitcher of margaritas, but a large pitcher (almost a $10 difference). We brought up the mistake to her, and she said "I know you ordered a small pitcher, but you got a large one and you shouldn't have drank it all and we wouldn't have charged you for it." What?!?! We didn't know we were given a large pitcher, and would have had no way of knowing, unless they brought both out to us to let us see them side by side. We, as customers, had to assume that we were being served what we ordered. The waitress brought over the manager. He proceeded to tell us that we weren't going to "get something for free" and that we should have sent back the margaritas instead of drinking them. He was a total jerk about it. We kept telling him that we didn't know that it was the large size, and he kept telling us too bad. I told him that was very unfortunate, because he was loosing 5 families of future customers. His response was "fine, goodbye." THEN, we noticed that each of our checks had a "service charge" on it. No idea what it was for, since we were not charged for a group on the single check, and were not told that we would receive an extra charge for splitting the checks. When I asked, the waitress told me that it was an automatic gratuity. I'm guessing they figured that was they only way they would receive a gratuity since the service was so exceptionally poor the entire night. Needless to say, we did not pay the "service charge." There is no way we will ever return, or ever recommend to anyone that they dine at this...
Read moreGood food. GOD AWFUL service. Sat down at the bar to wait for a couple friends. Bartender was blunt and rude. I let it go, whatever, doesn’t matter. Our friends get there maybe 10 minutes later and we’re seated. We ordered drinks and everything was fine. One of the margaritas was wrong so we politely told them and the server corrected my friend and told her “what she actually ordered” in a rude manner. Whatever, we let it go. None of us our confrontational. Well we finish our food and the check comes, and it’s all on one bill. That’s not going to work, so we politely ask if it can be split. Well apparently at this restaurant, checks can’t be voided and put in the system again...? We were told that next time we need to notify them that there will be separate checks (cuz you know every group of young adults goes out and one person pays...?) usually the server asks before bringing the check if it’ll be split, I guess we just figured it was obvious that a group of 20-something year olds would have split checks. Well We try figuring out the amount each couple/person owes, and it just wasn’t working out. So a few of us went to the front and told them we just need the check split, it’s not going to work with the bill we have in our hand. We get put off to the side for 5 minutes and have to approach the empty counter to ask if we can split it now. The person at the counter told us “oh your server can take care of that”....so I told him, no he can’t, I guess he doesn’t want to or he’s not able to. So while telling the person at the counter what each person had, he’s interrupting us by seating different customers and talking to other servers. We are not confrontational people at all but since we sat down at the bar to where we’re standing now, we’ve been treated like garbage and talked down to. So he prints out the checks practically throwing them into our hands and continues to lecture us on the fact that next time, we need to let our server know we’re going to have split checks. Don’t worry, there won’t be a next time. OR MAYBE YOUR SERVERS CAN ASK SO SITUATIONS LIKE THIS CAN BE AVOIDED. So we go back to the table and oh, shocker, we’re missing 2 of the bills. We read 7 orders and we were given 5. I put my card down, and we’ll figure this out later. From the time we sat down to the time we left, servers were rude, we were treated like garbage, and were dismissed. Really wanted to have a good time with a group of people because I’ve heard good things. Maybe it wasn’t just a bad day for the entire staff. I don’t expect a reply or anything because it seems like the common belief there is that the customer is...
Read moreI haven’t been to Lobos for almost 2 years. My coworker recently told me now they “stepped it up” and she has been happy with her recent experiences. I was meeting a friend for dinner and I recommended it. Not only was there a dead fly in our chips, the server Ana stuck her hands in my glass when it was still 1/3 full and took it away without me finishing. I’ve been in food and beverage for over 12 years. I can say it was the worst customer service experience I’ve had since living I the area for 5 years. We didn’t matter (not that we have too), but a little friendliness and attention is what is expected. She made us feel like we were a bother and not worth her time. And we didn’t even ask for anything but our food and beverages. We were not annoying or demanding in any way. She talked to my table while walking away. When we found a dead fly, with the legs already partially missing and in the basket under other chips, she asked if it had just flew I the basket when we were not looking. We explained politely that was not what happened. Then (as any restaurant should do with bugs in their food) they offered something complimentary. My friend and I asked for another beverage. Since there were two I politely said “only one beverage is free.” The server Ana brought out one drink with two straws. So I went In and asked for my friend to get a refill. The comment back “only one free drink!”. I said “of course”. Had she listened the first time without walking away disrespectfully, she would have heard the request to get two and only pay for one. I am absolutely stunned by the disgraceful service. I recommend taking meals for carry out. Part of customer service is just being a decent human being. I’m sorry if your having a bad day, or maybe just do not care. Then get a different job. I worked food and beverage jobs half my life. And I cared about the customer experience. This was absolutely one of the rudest behaviors I’ve witnessed in a long time. Too bad because this used to be a restaurant I was proud to recommend. The queso is to die for and the tacos are amazing. But I do not want anyone else to have that type of experience. Good food, but...
