Antonio's Coney Island — Restaurant in Grand Blanc Charter Township

This is a local coney island (which are common in the Flint, Michigan area) that is Greek inspired. This location has been a coney island for as long as I can remember, but Antonio's Coney Island has only been here a few years.

We visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is nice and clean. They have updated it since it operated as Venus Coney Island. It was decently busy, no wait, but fairly full.

We ordered the Breakfast Special, which they charge an extra $1.00 for since it is Saturday (and they can apparently make more money). The meat from the meal was fine, nothing special. Usually, we order our eggs over easy because most short order cooks inherently overcook them. Sadly, that was not the fact here and our eggs came out exactly over easy with runny, uncooked white parts. That is on us. However, the yokes on the eggs were really light colored, reflecting lower quality eggs. Meal was average at best. Service was average at best.

Be aware, my biggest pet peeve exists here - a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. In my opinion, restaurants that charge a credit card surcharge are either 1) not good enough operators to figure out how to adequate price their foods; or 2) crooks who take advantage of the most common type of payment.

For all these reasons, I would recommend a different coney island. There are tons of them around. Frankly, Leo's Coney Island, which is a chain with many locations, has better food and...

Great Coney's I grew up on fast food and restaurants and I can honestly say they have the best coneys I've ever had Antonio's takes great pride in their food and customer service they are great people it is a great place to take your family they are very welcoming they have good prices and the lobby is very clean I enjoy eating there sometimes the cook comes out and conversates with me and other guests it makes me feel good when the cook comes out and thanks me for my business and welcomes me I wish more restaurants around were like this these people are very good people feel free to stop in and experience what I'm talking about also make sure you leave a great review I'm sure they will appreciate it I must say they are very fast and efficient with their orders as well you will not sit there long waiting for your food you can definitely tell the people making your food are...

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit for lunch but when we went back for breakfast our experience had a couple of low points. I ordered eggs over medium expecting a soft yolk but the eggs came with hard yolks. When I pointed this out to the waitress she first said that's how eggs over medium are cooked. That was a first for me and I requested that they be replaced and a new set of eggs cooked perfectly were brought to the table in less than 5 minutes the turn around time was a plus. Our table wasn't too close to the kitchen door and yet wait staff could be easily over heard talking to the cooks in loud voices complaining about everything from order screwups to costing them money. Customers don't want to hear them while trying to enjoy their meal. The restaurant was very bright and clean and the place is packed at lunch but not busy at all for week...
