Just coming back to Michigan from the South and wanted to get my husband a good burger... Rays was GREAT! Food was perfect, customer service was on point and very friendly and wow were they fast. Everything cooked to order (small patty burgers though so they will be well done) and served hot. Both of us had drinks, fries and a burger for right around $10. Perfect for a quick low budget lunch especially if you are in a hurry. We will return for sure.

Visited today 12/02/2020... amazing service once again! Ciara the cook went above and beyond making sure our order was perfect and I'd like to add that her customer service along with the others I had spoke to was impeccable and absolutely fantastic. Everything was in order to protect employees and guests from covid. Everyone was wearing masks properly and even enforced a texting option to let us know when our food was ready to avoid germs or contamination. I felt safe there in a world that isnt so much these days. A simple hamburger joint that goes so far beyond expectations... many could take and use this example. A fine establishment with the best employees and customer service in all of west Michigan! Great job Ciara and team!!! I wish there was an option for 10 stars... you all deserve it and...

One of my all time favorite places in Grand Haven. I have been eating here since the early 70s. Unfortunately the new owners don't take the same pride as the originals, out side of fish sandwich was rock hard inside was cold and extremely fishy, my dog wouldn't even eat it. Also got a triple cheese and it has almost no flavor. Only thing you could taste are the pickles and ketchup because they put so much on it. Their website says they close at 9 pm, they still had the blinds drawn and the outside lights were off couldn't tell.if they were even open had to call and find out. The staff was completely unprofessional, 2 of the girls were wearing t-shirts that were longer than their shorts and the t-shirts weren't even that long, one girl was wearing a zip up sweatshirt and didn't look like she had anything else on, the staff was throwing ice cubes at each other, snapping towels at each other and throwing wasted food at each other. I was sadly disappointed by one of my childhood favorite places to eat, the new owners don't have the same respect and take the same pride the Martz family did...

I'm going to call this what it is. It took two visits, spaced 5 years apart before I felt like I was able to give it a proper review. It serves burgers, shakes, some onion pedals, "those crinkle fries", and probably a few other things. I bet this establishment gave the red and yellow place a run for their money back in the day. I bet the red and yellow place got their red from Ray's. I got the double deluxe, it was really good, it wasn't what I was expecting because it wasn't what I was expecting. It was almost everything the quick drive thru window and speaker phone couldn't quite offer, but it could offer. It was a longer wait, it was a fresher burger, it was a double and it was a deluxe, it was a cold Coke with the right ICE to Coke ratio, it was onion pedals, it was service with a smile. It wasn't a quick drive thru, it wasn't those delicious "French fries", it wasn't buy one get one for a dollar, it wasn't a combo. It did hook me, and I'll be back. Thanks for proper understanding as to what Ray's is about! Keep up...

I was a bit disappointed... I don't go to Grand Haven very often but happened to be driving by and I love going to the small places because they usually have good food at fair prices. I was disappointed here though. The perch sandwich was dry, overcooked and mostly breading. The fries were decent and I got a decent amount of them. I also ordered some coleslaw (and I paid for it) but it was never placed into my bag. I got a Coke to drink and they have the new paper straws (which I dislike, personally) which is great because every little bit helps. However, they are using plastic cups so why did I have to taste paper and have my lips stuck to the straw when there way more plastic in the cup itself... Based on the reviews, my visit was probably a fluke but it was still disappointing none the less. The lady at the counter was very friendly though. Also, there aren't any "meals" so you have to order everything individually. My order totaled over $9 and it just wasn't worth that much to me.

Food was great and so was the service. I got a burger along with fries and a shake. I was also able to try the fried pickles from someone I was with. The fires were crispy and the burger was cooked to perfection. The staff were also kind and talkative. The food was also cooked in a made-to-order manner and so all the food was hot and fresh! This was a great place to come to especially after the beach. Definitely recommend coming here if you’re in town or looking for something to eat. The only item on the menu I didn’t enjoy was the shake. It tasted like melted ice cream and was a tad too sugary for me even at a small size. This also is more nit-picky, but I wished that there was a sort of meal deal. Getting a main, side, and a drink ran me about 15 bucks. Then again thats about everything these days and I did get some of the more expensive stuff on the menu so Im not that pressed about it.
