We were on our way west when a medical emergency stopped us in Grand Island. The doctor informed me that I wasn't to travel but had to get a hotel room and relax for the weekend. We booked a room at a local hotel and got settled in. When we got hungry and decided to see what takeout was available I went with my stand by and looked for Chinese. I found Hunan Chinese and decided to order from here because I could see the menu and order online. I looked up the address of the hotel, never realizing that this small town had 2 hotels of the same name. My husband received a phone call asking if we were staying in the hotel by ** hotel. Yes that's the one....OK After waiting about an hour my husband gave them a call to make sure that they received the order.
The man who he spoke with was incredibly rude, told him that we put down the wrong address (what about the call asking if we were at the one by Quality Inn) This man yelled at my husband telling him how there are two Days Inn's and we gave them the wrong address. He informed my husband that he had better tip the driver extremely well for him to come back out.
My husband hung up the phone very shocked. We had had a rough day, we're not from here, I googled the address and used what came up having no idea that there were 2 Days Inn hotels.
My husband called them back and a woman answered he explained that he wanted the order cancelled and our money back and then he explained why. She said that she would take care of it.
Not even 5 minutes later there's a knock on the door and it's our dinner. The delivery guy was very friendly and we took our meal and didn't make any kind of scene.
$46 worth of cold Chinese food wasn't the greatest and the man on the other end of the phone ruined our appetite. We will never order from here again. We're here for another night only tonight it looks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWORST Asian cuisine in Grand Island. Absolute do NOT recommend. Went there last night, ordered fried wonton and pork lo mein. For the wonton's I got just that, fried wonton WRAPPERS, no meat or filling in them at all. NONE, not anything. completely empty. I sent them back and refused to pay for them. The Lo Mein, the pork was old, nearly rancid. I picked all the pork out but the dish wasn't even hot or stir fried. It was like it had been thrown together and microwaved. The fried rice was uncooked and unseasoned. The rice was literally hard from not being cooked. It's a shame that this place didn't burn down when Valentino's did. Would l have been a blessing in disguise. When I told the cashier he still charged me for my meal. I didn't even eat 1/4 of it, as I tried to find something edible. The waiter I had was awful, more concerned with trying to get into the pants of the waitress on duty than he was with serving me. He got no tip, he was so bad he should have given me money for being there. It was a nice looking restaurant and it was clean, however it was empty and that should have been my first warning. Eat here at your own risk. BTW my spouse is Chinese so I know what the food SHOULD taste like. This food is GARBAGE and shouldn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've never been to Hunan's in GI until last night. Hastings was always my go to. While I love the Hastings restaurant (Best hot sour soup...ever...) I was very impressed with my take out order. I called ahead and the young woman was quick, polite and professional. Moments later, I was met at the front counter with everything ready to go. I had asked for extra soy and sweet and sour sauce...wow! They loaded me up...big time. Usually I have to bring a gun to most places to just get an extra packet of catsup! Not here... The portions where large and the flavor was excellent. They provided plenty of all that we needed and I basically face planted my plate, snapping at the food like a hungry werewolf. I highly recommend the GI Hunan's restaurant and will definitely order...
