Nearly always a disappointment for me. Away for about eight months I thought I'd give it another try. Here we go.
Today I ordered a 12 oz. "Prime Rib" (medium rare) with a baked potato and loaded steak fries. The meat again was overcooked as is often the case and mostly dry aside from the one flaky edge. I didn't order a slice of cheap roast.
The potato was small. And, the fries looked like they had been heated in a kind of pan all sort of melded together with the cheese and bacon forming a thick block of goo I'd have to tear apart. The margarine served is margarine, not butter. Let's not call it that.
It was boarder line chilly in the place shortly after noon on a Sunday. The server didn't bother to ask about my meal while I was consuming it. But was sure to remind me that I could pay for all of this at the conclusion of eating. I had to ask for my water to be refilled. Person needs quite a bit of it to wash down the meat. (Lol)
To me the prime rib seemed to be a hold over from the day previous. IF that's the case, dice it up and put it in a pot of stew or something.
This isn't the place that it used to be years ago when it opened up. The prime rib and steaks have been pretty hit and miss. I get the impression it's very assembly line approach. A good cook can see and feel if what's to be served passes or not. Occasionally I'll get a good one but usually it's been underwhelming in recent years. The sides are generally good and the bread is pretty nice.
At least they didn't attempt to seat me at the bar today. That's usually where they like to trot me off to when I'm alone busy or not.
Note to servers....Pay attention! I'm a good tipper. I won't fault you for what happens in the kitchen or what management is responsible for. I do however expect you to be interested in what's going on with the meal I'm purchasing, to keep my drink filled and to exercise some attentiveness.
People were waiting in line as I was exiting the whole ordeal. I think I'm done with the whole Texas Roadhouse experience.

Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. I love Texas Roadhouse but don’t get to often since I don’t live near one, meaning I drove over an hour to only be disappointed. My server was easily the worst server I’ve ever had. She only came to our table 3 times during our visit. We got sat down and our drink order and an appetizer order was placed (first time server was at our table), we got our appetizer before our drinks and had to wait another 10 mins for those (second time our sever was at our table), we made our food order and when the food came out it looked okay. I cut into my chicken only to see it was raw... I started eating my sides waiting for my server to check on us to get my chicken cooked more. After my fiancé was done with his meal (I told him to keep eating) I finally just had to get the attention of another server.. she took my food back for me and apologized. Our drinks were empty the whole time during our “meal”. When my chicken arrived after another 20 minutes (if something is sent back it’s supposed to be first priority) but I cut into it again and took a bite, I have never had a piece of chicken so dry I couldn’t even eat it I had to spit it back out. I asked another server to see if I could talk to the manager, he came over and asked what he could do. He was very polite, I told him the chicken was so disgusting I would pay for the sides but not the chicken and he agreed with me saying that the chicken didn’t even look appetizing what so ever and took the whole meal off the bill. The third time our server came to the table was to hand us the check where I asked her to get us refills as my chicken was too dry I was thirsty and we haven’t had anything to drink for a while now. My server didn’t even know my chicken was sent back, she didn’t know it was taken off my ticket. We finally got our drinks and were just so dissatisfied and disappointed we just paid and left. I definitely will not...
Read moreWe were so disappointed of our experience today. We have been very happy in previous visits. It started with the wait. We're were told we would get a text when our table was ready withing 5-15 minutes. We waited and after the time elapsed we asked if we missed our call. We had not yet. After 15 more minutes of waiting we went to check again. The customer in front of us was inquiring the same and was told he was texted twice and would now have a 30 minute longer wait. We asked and they told us our table was ready and a text had been sent. We waited another 5 minutes to be brought to our table. Our waiter arrived a few minutes later for a drink order, not appearing to want to be there. We had to ask twice for their complimentary bread and then finally got our chance to order food. We recieved our table ready text after we got our order. We were pretty disappointed with the Mac and Cheese for our youngest child (which was boxed Mac, not something you would expect from a higher end chain, especially for the price). The Mac was not creamy, but very dry and overcooked almost curdled looking. We heard complaints from neighboring tables about their negative experience. Also at one point we stacked neatly our used plates and cutlery. Our waiter came to collect the used dishes without a word to us about needing anything or any word at all. Our dishes were mediocre at best. The prime rib was overly and fiberously fatty as the fats were not properly rendered to give those fats their glory. My husband was not able to finish his dinner as those strand of fat could be compared to the consistency of eating hair. Our waiter disappeared for quite a while and we were already beyond ready to leave. So very disappointed and will not be returning. Gross food and shotty service....
