The Hedde
Old fashioned. Named after the visionary builder of this fine establishment, friedrich hedde, this indulgence embodies sophistication and simplicity. Crafted with old grand dad 100 proof bonded bourbon, rich demerara sugar, and bitters, then stirred to perfection, this timeless classic reflects the elegance of its namesake. Elevate your experience and ask to try it smoked. +$1.00 choose your own bourbon+ $ price varies (archives' fav)
Nutty By Nature
Amaretto sour. Sweet, sour, and vibrant! Featuring the rich, nutty flavors of amaretto liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of demerara syrup. Shaken to a frothy egg-white finish and served over ice. This one deserves a "hip hop hooray"! (Archives' fav, contains nuts &/or raw egg)
Southern Charm
Whiskey sour. A harmonious blend of bold and tangy flavors. Crafted with smooth kentucky whiskey, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a touch of house-made demerara syrup. Expertly shaken with egg white to create a velvety, frothy finish that delights the senses. (Contains nuts &/or raw egg)

This subterranean hideout is located next to the grand island tourism center, at the corner of 3rd and N. Locust. It is wheelchair accessible( both restrooms are accessible as well) via ramp opposite of the stairs. They do offer a dinner menu through a restaurant called the Chocolate Bar( when ordering ask about the desserts). The drink menu is packed with aromatic and high brow movie puns. This establishment, which has been open since November of 2024, is owned by a local couple and community activists. You'll find curiosities all over the bar, like the tiny room, games, and some decorations that you can ask the friendly and welcoming staff.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover The Archives, a hidden gem tucked away (just across the street from McKinney's). This underground, speakeasy-style bar offers a unique and intimate atmosphere perfect for a night out. The cocktails were expertly crafted and incredibly delicious. Each sip was a delightful experience. The table games added an extra layer of fun to the evening, making it a great place to socialize with friends. If you're looking for something different in Grand Island, I highly recommend checking out The Archives

This bar was great! The atmosphere was really neat. The menus were in files which was a cool touch. They had a good variety of drinks and they were reasonably priced.
