Went here for Sunday brunch, while I know it's graduation time, summer, weekends are busy, etc. the service & the flow is what ruined it for us.
Given an estimated wait time of 30 minutes, I get it's an estimate but it took about an hour. When we went to see how much longer after about 45 minutes one of the hostess said that parties that had been dining were taking too long & that the manager was going to go around encouraging them to wrap it up. The only reason we continued to wait was because we had two special needs kids in our party, if you know what it's like we weren't going to change what we had planned. And honestly, we were looking forward to trying their food.
It was clear that it wasn't the diners that caused long delays. It was the service. It took an hour, maybe more to get our food? An hour & a half? Our waitress never refilled our drinks while waiting. A manager, Marquis, was already doing damage control visiting each table apologizing for the wait stating they were busy & working out the flow as it's only been four months since they opened. Kudos for him to being proactive. He stated our food was almost out, 30 minutes later, nope. My friend had to leave because her son with autism was having a hard time with the long wait. After we voiced our concern on the lengthy time & told him she had to leave, he stated our food was the next ticket out. At least 20 minutes to remove her food from our order & get it out to us, unacceptable. Thumbs down on the matter of fact attitude he gave off during that time. Other tables & pick-up orders were taking just as long. Our waitress, after hearing we were upset finally paid attention to us. She never once said sorry, but instead wrote a note on our bill that she was sorry for the wait. It's the flow, not the customers, don't blame your patrons because you all can't get it together & maybe it would've seemed more sincere if she had actually said sorry to us.
We won't be back, which is unfortunate because the food was simply delicious. Waffle were on point, cheesy grits were amazing, my other friend's kid ate all his bacon (it's a miracle! lol), omelet was excellent. And to the red haired waitress (not ours) that showed kindness to one of the boys we were with, thank you for understanding his needs, thank you for showing some kindness by posing for a photo & dancing with us when he asked you to. You were such a light in a...
Read moreFirst time here. Mom took me for a Saturday birthday brunch. I initially wanted to go to Ihop for the best pancakes (to my personal taste buds ) ... I've yet to find a place that even comes close but decided instead to try a new place. Sadly i should've just gone to Ihop! Mom chose 2 different places and Kekes had the higher score so we came here. I know there's only so much you can do to make pancakes eggs and bacon taste good so with that said my experience was average at best. I like over medium eggs. They were still way too runny. I asked the waiter to just microwave them for about 45 seconds. He said they don't have a microwave and said let's try over hard and maybe that'll get you what you're looking for. I started to say no because i felt like they would then over cook them and sure enough. What they brought out was like hard boiled egg doneness. I didn't eat them. He came back by asking about the outcome. I showed him. He apologized and left them sitting right there and so did I!! The sausage and bacon was typical so no complaints there. Tasted my mother's Pancakes ... ugh so bland , no flavor and the syrup was not sweet enough to help them any. I asked for warm syrup like i always do at ihop and was told like many other non ihop restaurants , they don't offer it warm. The waiter was kind though and said he could let the bottle sit in hot water some to heat it. Well at least he tried but wasn't warm enough. Now having already suspected i wouldn't like the pancakes I ordered banana caramel French toast from jump and I'm glad i did... much better than the pancakes. I got a side of nutella to drizzle over that. Now you might think it was overally sweet. Not at all. It was perfect. Lastly what they call home fries is what i typically hear referred to as skillet potatoes...so just be warned they're not deep fried French fries, nor are they deep fried coins or cubed potatoes. Hopefully you can see the picture. They were very good. That's the only thing i would say impressed me because i prefer these and so many breakfast spots don't carry them. So as i always say, everyone's taste buds are different so come try. I won't be back but their score is high so the chances of you liking it is high. Oh and the service is lightening fast except for the hard fried eggs. They took forever, I knew that was a bad...
Read moreTL;DR: Really beautiful restaurant and large portion sizes for breakfast, but really plain, unseasoned food and very slow service. Won't be returning.
Really beautiful breakfast place. I tried to give service some slack since this is a newer restaurant that just opened, but honestly our service was just not there. It took 15 to 20 minutes in between every single interaction. She only served half the table each time. Only 1 half got water and coffee, then 15 minutes, then the rest finally got just waters. Then another 15-20 till we got to order. Then almost 30 min goes by and we are staring down the waitress, who is ignoring us at the order stand, trying to get her attention. Finally we get the food, only half comes out. 10 min and now we get the other half of the food. I ordered a philly cheese steak panini- on the menu (including the menus my friends had, because we checked later and confirmed) it comes with green bell peppers specifically. It comes out with only meat & cheese. The meat it unseasoned and one side of the sandwich clearly had way less meat. I was super hungry and honestly all of my friends food came out okay and I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for them to remake the food so I just eat as much as I can. Which is like 1/2ish before I gave up. We even tried adding salt and pepper and the sauce from the onion rings into it just to make it not as plain. My sister liked the steak fries, but she salted them herself since they didnt come salted. I ended up just eating the pickle and chips and letting my friends eat my panini instead. I don't have them remake it, I don't complain, I just pay the bill. At the end, I asked the waitress politely "hey for the next time I come in is this normally how the Philly cheese steak Panini is made?" And when we explain that it was missing stuff, she goes on about how "oh they must have changed the menu", even though this is a brand new restaurant that just opened and every single menu that we all got said green bell peppers. (Also every other Panini at our table came out with exactly what the menu said was on it, including red bell peppers.) which at this point, is just such a dumb thing to lie about. All of our dishes were very meh and not really seasoned, but the lying even after I paid really pushed it over the edge for me. Will not...
