We usually happily go on a Monday night for $3.99 enchilada dinner special, which is good for the price but don't get too excited, it's still just cheese enchiladas... After looking at the very large and diverse menu we decided to try a date night Friday night and splurge to get a few of the premium items offered. We arrived at 7.30, was not crowded at all. We ordered the shrimp cocktail to start with, which in the picture shows a large glass with all ingredients mixed together. When our waitress brought ours the shrimp were in a small rocks glass with tomato sauce (mabye v-8?) Covering them. Then and a side plate of avacado, onion, jalapeno pieces, cilantro, and tomato pieces kind of just thrown on, then our waitress asks if we would like a bowl to mix it all up with. Shocked that we had to do this ourselves, (don't get me wrong we are not above doing some "fun work at the table") we said no thank you and went with what we had. Not good a good time. The shrimp were still frozen in the middle but the straight tomato sauce was very off-putting. We ordered the Castillo for the entree which is advertised as slow roasted pork ribs cooked with special seasonings. When it arrived there were 4- 3 inch pieces of the ribs that were all full of gristle and round cartlidges. There was absolutely no flavor to it, I mean really it tasted like mabye a boiled meat I guess? Not good again. During the latter part of really just piecing through what we ordered our waitress asked if we wanted drink refills to which we happily said yes because we had been out for 10 minutes plus with the drinks on the edge of the table!. We did not see the waitress for real 20 minutes after that so we just gave up and left. We stood by the front door/cash register for several minutes before we had to approach our waitress to ask for the check which ended up being $35. Don't know why but we still tipped $5 but it was bad food and worse service for something we thought would be special. Nope. And you can keep your Monday special too, we will not be coming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe WORST service we have gotten. At first it was going good, we sat and they took our drink order, water, not too hard. They gave us chips and salsa. She took our order.... I ordered a taco salad with chicken and I asked her what type of dressing it was they had, was it only ranch or like a house dressing. She said they have both, so I asked for the regular house dressing. She brought me a beef salad, I was like āeh, Iāll let it slide I like beef.ā She brought me ranch dressing, which I didnāt order, and it tasted like the ones you get from Walmart or Kroger - not hating on those - just figured it would be restaurant quality ranch. She took forever to come back to us and when we asked her if this was their house dressing she said āno. We have one the cook prepares for usā so I told her I wanted that one. She came back out 6 minutes later with Gravy. Like mashed potato gravy sauce. ????????? I was confused. I ended up just putting some red salsa on the salad instead.
Now, my mom ordered cheese enchiladas. Yāall, that cheese was so hard, and hard to cut into, it was a block of cheese but not cheesy at all. She called over one of the waiter, since we didnāt know where our waitress was, and told him she didnāt like them, and the guy just took it and said nothing. Like cāmon now. Weāre paying for this food. Work with us here.
Yāall itās been a while since weāve had come here and we were really excited. But nah, this service was just not good. Maybe it was an off day or maybe they just changed. But I donāt think weāll be coming here...

The food here is fantastic. Everything tastes fresh and full of flavor, from the chips and salsa to the main plates. Portions are generous without being over the top, and you can tell the recipes come from real tradition, not just something thrown together. Iāve tried a few different dishes and have been impressed every single timeārich sauces, perfectly seasoned meats, and sides that taste just as good as the main entrĆ©e.
The service is another highlight. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and happy to make you feel at home. They let you enjoy your meal at your own pace without ever rushing you, which adds to that relaxed, comfortable vibe.
