I ride past Gino's several times a week and have to stop myself from ordering a pizza, lol! (I'm trying to listen to my doctor and stay away from sausage and pepperoni...) I have ordered from here several times, and Gino, the owner, has been there. He is always friendly and GREAT at multi-tasking!
I love the family history shared with me when I take the time to ask questions about the menu. I love how Gino is passing along recipes his father shared with him, while creating his own.
(This type of commitment is difficult - so many late nights and years of a fast-paced environment, while maintaining connection with customers. Gino and his family are to be commended for their commitment, patience, and understanding to the immense time and energy it takes to run a food establishment.)
While I ordered my food last night, I asked a customer ahead of me to share his favorite on the menu, and he said he always got the deluxe sub. Read moreTwo nights ago my boyfriend ordered delivery and they managed to call him when they arrived because I'm in an apartment. We ordered delivery again last night because they seemed so easy going and great food. We waited 1 hour before we called to see why it was taking so long. I believe the owner answered and he immediately acted irritated with us. We were not complaining about anything we just simply asked if maybe they had gotten lost. He replied saying that they called our phone numerous amount of times and we didn't answer. Never did we receive any missed calls. He then started saying this was an ongoing problem like we had any past issues, even slightly. So he didn't say they would redeliver, he was just very rude and treated us like we had done something wrong or made his job harder. He could've atleast reconfirmed the number before assuming we wouldn't answer. He did not apologize, and frankly it was not our fault. We were both very disappointed in their customer service. The food is great, but after last nights mishap, we will not be ordering from this place again! Especially if he is the owner. We understand pressure during busy times, but he did not treat us...

I can tell you this service and the food was outstanding! We grabbed a deep dish (Sicilian) pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, garlic, ham, bacon- it had this old town/old school flavor like you're getting a family pizza that goes back to NYC or Chicago! I honestly can say that I've NEVER had a better pizza from Grand Rapids, that has a better flavor than them!
