This review is unbiased from verified customers. We actually came in, tried, and paid. We are unacquainted with the owner. We ordered a family combo. This is what we got : 2 spoon of beet, 5 spoon of mung been, 4 small roll of bread (sour bread, which my daughter politely said "I don't like it"), 2 spoon of overcooked beef, 3 spoon of meat + bone, 3 spoon of green bean stir fried, 4 spoon of red spicy sauce , 2 spoon of cook vegetable, 4 spoon of cabbage (all are tablespoon). Two small cup of tea. Paid $34 including tip. The food portion reminded me of how scarce food can be if we are not appreciate mother earth. With regard of the taste, if we offer this plate to Survivor contestants, they will thank us after finishing the food , and may say, "next time please let us starve". We came back with our stomach rumbling and have to open the refrigerator look for leftover food. I never feel the saying " time is priceless" and/or " spend your money wisely" so meaningful. Only eat at this restaurant, if you are super nice who have so much money, don't know what to do with it, too tired of fine dining and crowded restaurants , and consider paying as donating. Eat here if you want to walk in this restaurant at dinner time which you are the only customer , and have so much time waiting for a lady who work as waitress as well...
Read moreService- Terrible. Went there for dinner.Basic common courtesies of service were ignored. We were pointed to our table. People who sat down after us were helped first? Sat for at least 15+ minutes before anybody asked for beverages.Waited 10 more minutes to order our food. Alright this is where it gets funny............We ordered our food- vegetarian platter of four dishes for 2. Waited at least 30 minutes for our food, so we figured it must take a while to cook..... to which they proceeded to plate up our food from the buffet line right behind our table. So it wasnt even cooked and most likely was sitting on the buffet line from lunch.
The quality of the food is what you expect out of a can. The four dishes we expected were 4 spoonfulls on a plate: canned green beans, canned refried beans and garganzo beans, something that resembled corn meal mixed with water, and I forget the 4th. Point being this food was awful to which my assumptions were true when I went to pay.
From the cash register you can view into the kitchen-it essentially looked like a pantry. Canned vegetables and 2 microwaves is there kitchen........
I would put the worst cafeteria food from elementary school ahead ...
Read moreIt's a no go - tastes like Ethiopian hospital food, costs like an American hospital stay.
Of three "meat" dishes out of seven on our family platter, only the chicken chewed like meat. Seasoning was bland, texture was mushy and uniform. Most flavorful part of the meal was the tomato in the glob of salad in the middle. Our communal dish was served on a black plastic platter and accompanied by plate of hastily torn injera. I did not get the feeling that gloves were involved.
The tea is decent - if you don't mind refilling it yourself from the coffee warmer in the middle of the room. Also had to walk to the kitchen to ask for more injera. Despite the fact that we intentionally chose a buffet day, the owner slyly avoiding giving us the choice (steam table was covered) and gave us menus. And yet - the lumps on our platter looked very much like the toned-down offerings in the steam tray of the buffet table. Cover came off the buffet before our food arrived.
For this experience, we shelled out $80 for 5 of us. Needless to say, it was a pricey lunch experiment. Got a story out of it, so I suppose it was...
