Heights Cream — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

It’s fine. I’ve been once, and ordered soft serve with salted caramel and cookie dough. There was so much cookie dough that every bite tasted like nothing but cookie dough - which I’m sure doesn’t sound bad, but it became a chore by the end, to finish the cup of one-dimensional flavor. On the rare occasion I got a bite without cookie dough, I didn’t taste any caramel - nor was any visible, aside from the fact that the ice cream was the color of an old white curtain, implying it may have had two to three drops of caramel mixed in. That said, the staff was very friendly - they just didn’t serve the best ice cream. Alger Heights is known for local small businesses providing great service for the community and neighbors. Heights Cream adds to this roster by being a super convenient, easily accessible ice cream spot for families, large groups or a quick pick me up. They have a window to order so it’s easy to get an order placed without needing to go inside. Extra important in 2020 climate! We went on opening day and it was as if they had been in business for months. They had multiple dairy free options which is often rare for an ice cream store and is very appreciated by lactose free people! They also had kid friendly options. Recommend neighbors and Alger community come check it out! Feedback is for them to add dipped cones (soft serve dipped in chocolate) as an option...

We were Heights Cream's first customers. After a long wait (the pandemic slowed down construction), we are thrilled to have Heights Cream in our little Alger Heights business district. The ice cream is tasty, the service friendly, and the location convenient for a pleasant walk or bike ride. Thank you for being a part of our neighborhood.
