Priced my wife's 14k wedding ring at $200 when I paid almost 3k. I have all paperwork and Receipts. The owner Also valued the gold less than market price. Ring weighs roughly 5.3g which even for the gold alone at roughly $100/g market value would be well over $200. I do not recommend doing business here. My ring was worth more than any ring in the display which I verified myself. He isn't selling any ring over 3k in his shop. Avoid at all cost, not sure if the reviews align with the tattoo shop next door, but based on my experience is pretty similar. I would give a 0 if I could for the insulting price of a valuable piece. The owner even mentioned he doesn't blame me for not selling for soo low.
See people/businesses like you need to be exposed. You never mentioned not being in the market to buy my ring. I simply asked you to appraise my ring and I would possibly sell. You never weighed my ring but told me a value based on your naked eye hahahahaha. I never told you I went to the place I bought my ring, that would be all the way in New York and I live in Michigan. Also I can't believe you are going to sit here and say a gentlemen brought in the same/similar ring an hour prior. That is sooo hilarious as this was a custom ring. Again as you mentioned you didn't even weigh my ring but gave me a value of $200 not $200-250. You tested the gold and as I told you and you verified it was 14k. I never pulled out any papers or appraisals. I told you that I have but never pulled out the receipt as well as card of authenticity informing you of type of diamond, type of gold, diamond clarity, price etc. What I don't understand is how a so called "honest businessman" can make up things that never took place to cover your credibility. To be honest you saw a black man with a valuable ring and thought that I was desperate for money like most people who sell to you and you tried taking advantage of and insulting me. No jewelry in your store is valued at 3k which implies you have very little if any knowledge on diamonds. I will not recommend anyone with valuable jewelry to do business here. Another valid point is that you cannot speak for any other jeweler in regards to how they would conduct business. "If I took my ring to another place of business they would only trade it in." Not true at all. Actual jewelers test the diamonds, and gold prior to making a true offer. The place that I bought my ring has already made an offer to buy which I am going to take especially based on places such as your establishment trying to make a quick dollar off someone offering pennies. Lastly, every real jeweler knows it's not the style of ring that determines the value (cluster ring) as you mentioned but the gold and diamond quality. 0/5 rating Overall 0/5 Knowledge 0/5 Customer...
Read moreI didn't actually get to go inside because of the drive still being covered in heavy snow and my car wouldn't make it up the incline. So, I can't say for the inside, but I called and talked to the guy (can't remember his name), I tried to describe my situation ( I need rent money or going homeless) and he wasn't interested (my reasoning for coming there) because he had repairs to do and if I had anything like gold or diamonds to come inside ( I was parked next door). The only reason I even considered this place was because they advertised collateral loans and I was going to see if they could help me because I have a paid off car to offer. So, no this didn't help me at all, I cried in my car for about 30 minutes after the fact and you know what, I only need $430 not to be kicked out in the street and there isn't one place or person...
Read moreThe owner is very kind and friendly. I’ve bought a few pieces here before and always loved the store.
However, I had the misfortune of meeting his employee on this occasion. He was very cold, socially challenged, and awkward. Not someone you would be comfortable making a large transaction with, to say the least.
I came at 5:30, 1 hour before the listed closing time of 6:30, and he was visibly upset that we walked in the store so late.
We told him we wanted to buy a chain, but he told us that we should have come earlier because they put all the gold chains away at 5….And that was it. We weren’t allowed to buy a chain that night.
Later we went to another jewelry shop around 28th street and they were happy to sell us a chain.
I like this place, but only when the owner is there, he will...
