Osmow's Shawarma - Grand Rapids — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

Really wanted to like this place since I like this type of food and it's so close to where I work. The service was awful, when I arrived the employee told me it would be a few minutes as they were finishing up a large to go order. I waited 15 min before my order was taken, 3 men came in and their order was taken right away. Employee asked me to step aside as she took their order, prepared all 3 of their meals separately, collected their money, they sat down and were eating their food as I stood there still waiting. She finally gave me my order, I asked if the wrap and fries I ordered always take this long to prepare as I'm limited on time for my lunch hour. She then got snippy with me and said "well the fries take awhile". The beef shwarma I ordered was flavorless and very, very chewy, couldn't even eat it. The fries were good. I spent 35 min there, waiting for my to go order, had to rush back to work where I discovered I couldn't even eat what I ordered. Very disappointed in the food and especially...

This place will be out of business really fast with the kind of service I just got. I Walk in and this is my first time here, I didn't even get a greeting walking in. Not a single soul in the lobby and there is 1 worker. He takes my order (mind you I had no idea what I was getting because he wasn't saying anything) and then leaves it on the counter, so it's not going to be hot anymore when i get it. While continuing to make other online orders as my food just sits there and he doesn't say a word to me at all not even like a "sorry sir I will be right with you." At least 10 minutes goes by and my food sits there. So I just walked out. NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THERE EXCEPT ME. I will not go back here. I sure wish an employee that cared was working so I could have at least tried it.

Shawarma-one of my favorite foods! I was excited to try a place that recently opened up close to my workplace! When I walked in, it wasn't very busy, but I did come in mid afternoon, presumably after any lunch rush. I was warmly greeted by Jae, who joked around with me and led me through the process of ordering. The kitchen was set up like Qdoba or Subway, where you pick out the base of your meal; rox (rice), sticks (fries), or salad. They also had poutine (your choice of protein, sauce, and cheese, over fries) or wraps. I chicken shawarma on the rox with a Diet Coke and a baklava. I believe if you have a Diet Coke with baklava, it cancels out the calories! the food was a little bland, which made it loose a star, but the service was superior and the food was good.
