I went here a few days ago. I've been going here for a few years now (90% of the time through the drive-thru). I will tell you about a secret item I always get in the drive-thru that most people don't know about because this AMAZING item is NOT listed on the drive-thru menu!
When you do the drive-thru, tell them you want a "Fajita Wrap". You will LOVE IT!!! You can get either grilled chicken or grilled steak in this wrap. I usually get the grilled chicken. Along with the meat, the wrap also has lettuce, grilled onions, grilled peppers, tomatoes and rice. You can add cheese into it if you want.
They make mine SO PERFECT!. I get it as: A chicken fajita wrap, with NO rice and replace the rice with with heavy grilled onions, heavy grilled peppers, heavy tomatoes, and cheese. I also get 6 cups of hot salsa and 2 cups of sour cream on the side. And a large pop.
You will LOVE this secret item! Don't try to open this wrap, it is too big and the stuff inside will fall out. I simply take a bite and then tip the hot salsa into the spot I just took a bite of. Since the sour cream won't pour out of its cup, you can use the plastic knife to put sour cream into the spot you just took a bite out of.
The guys working the drive-thru are nice and speak English fine so you won't have any communication problems.
I've even got 8 friends of mine hooked to these wraps. I go to a few different medical buildings many times a week in a few cities as part of my work, and I've become friendly with 8 girls who work at these places. I told them about Cantina Mexican Grill (since we always talk about what we've ate today etc etc) and none of them ever heard of Cantina or even knew it existed.
I told them all about the delicious fajita wrap. And since they can't leave work, get this fajita and be back to work within 30 minutes, they'll call me whenever they want one and I pick up the fajitas (I drive by Cantina every day) and take the fajitas to them. They all love the fajitas saying it was so good and filling....keeping them full their entire shift and even into the next day!
We made plans for me to take all 8 of them (though I can't fit 8 passengers in my car LOL) out to eat here at Cantina as dine-in. I was going to get the sizzling plate fajita meal but the virus has delayed all these plans. Hopefully, we can do this in 2021....not only eat here but also at other places in MI, IN, OH and do a...
Read moreMinus 1 service for not being able to answer questions well. I asked if the sweet tea was sweet, got a yes it was unsweetened. I asked if drinks had free refills, they did, but she said I don’t know so I went off the assumption they didn’t. I asked about proportion sizes or their favorites they couldn’t answer.
You might ask me Abdul these are minute details…well for $20-30 an item off the menu which would equal a $50-70 meal, kind of considered fine dining those questions of matter.
Moving on the food was abysmal for the price. A cantina salad that wasn’t gigantic like at those Taco Mac bars was disappointing, wasn’t even large, but it was medium sized. My lovely gf for protein added which made the meal $5 more expensive, and it was super skinny/flat chicken that was too salty and dry. Every other element was part of a generic salad. The protein was supposed to make it shine but it failed miserably. That made it a sad dish. So sad.
The three chicken enchiladas plate I got, where to start. The beans were the best part. Pretty sure it had pork in it that I could taste which I don’t like to eat. Or some kind of animal fat. Would have like to have known beforehand. Anyway it was the best part, since on the menu it said simmered chicken you think the chicken would be soft. It was super dry and I had a hard time cutting it with a knife. Corn tortilla was fine. I couldn’t taste the enchilada/mole sauce. Just tasted like tomato/bean sauce it was weird.
A WASTE to come here for a $70 meal for two with small proportions. I wish I went to a barbacoa place that had all the same stuff for a total of $30. Shame on you for putting out those meals with tiny and bad quality proportions of everything for that price.
Everyone please go support your local small tacqueries near by. I’ve been to those...
Read moreTo-go order last night.. Called to place an order, put on hold (no biggie, but could hear I was forgotten about as the bartender carried on a conversation). Called back, placed order. Went inside to get it, another server put my food RIGHT in front of me. Bartender carried on conversation at the bar for about 5 minutes before she asked why I was there. Left for probably 7 minutes, she came back and said "I'm sorry, but I can't find your food". The food directly in front of me.... the bar reeked of pot ( no judgment here). But, that bartender made for an awful, uninviting experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Edit in response to owners response. I should have clarified even more, the bartender did not acknowledge me, and carried on a personal conviction before asking why I was there. Then spend 7 minutes looking for the food placed in front of me in to go bags. It's doesn't take 7 minutes to find out that the food was already made. Probably left for a smoke break. My review had nothing to do with being affected by covid, but negligence from the bartender. Yes it reeked of pot, could have been the servers could have been the patrons. No way to...
