Was basically empty. Employees were too busy counting their credit card tips. Had to go up and ask for menus. Our drink was basically all ice with maybe 10-12 ounces of liquid. We bought a second one and asked for only a little ice. They just refilled with same ice that hadn't even melted. It's their specialty rice n cinnamon beverage. Not alcohol. I requested a enchilada platter with really light sauce. It was swimming in it because they felt it was only tomato sauce. Unfortunately it wasn't. It was enchilada sauce of course and I can't have it that strong. Then I requested a different one with light sauce. This time they brought cheese enchiladas with cheese sauce. 😡😵. I didn't send back again because I didn't want to hurt my son's feelings. He was taking me out as a treat. Wasted our time. They have auto gratuity very sneakily hidden in their menus & allegedly “displayed on the front entrance”. On the final merchant bill to leave a tip, no mention of the auto gratuity is on there & the suggested tip amounts for 15%, 20% and so on do NOT include the auto gratuity that was already included into the bill. Left all in all nearly a 50% tip that I called the store to remediate once I realized I had over tipped so much on the initial bill. The servers take full advantage of this system and put forth minimal effort. Our server on a very slow 4 pm dine in (1 of 3 3 tables in the whole place) did one check in our entire meal and did not even run their own food. Another server had to go out of their way and run our table’s food from the expo line because ours was nowhere to be found virtually the entire dining experience. Carne Regia was awful, it had sheets of dry bland beef and the saltiest chorizo. The guacamole had a snotty texture and the cheese on the beans had a suspicious taste. The best part were the onions. The Birria tacos didn’t taste like they salted it and they barely tried to make it crispy. The jalapeño poppers may have just been frozen. The chips and salsa were good though. I asked for some jalapeños and it would cost a dollar but I never received it but I understood that the waitress was busy checking out 30 people… On top of everything, there was an automatic 18 percent tip that wasn’t even on the receipt they give you, so I almost tipped extra before wondering why the bill was so high.
