My partner and I stopped by the Popeyes on Nameoki Road in Granite City for dinner, and I have to say—it was a much better experience than I expected. I’ve been to other Popeyes locations over the years and was usually underwhelmed by either the quality of the food or the customer service. Because of that, I haven’t made it a regular stop.
But this was my first time at this specific location, and I was genuinely impressed. Even though it was dinner time and they were clearly busy, the atmosphere inside felt calm, focused, and well-managed. The employees were all very friendly, greeted us with a smile, and seemed to actually enjoy working there—something that’s surprisingly rare in fast food.
Our food was hot, fresh, and tasted exactly how you’d hope it would. Everything looked and smelled great, and it was clear that the kitchen was running smoothly and paying attention to quality.
What really stood out to me was the leadership. The manager was engaged, communicative, and had a solid rapport with the staff. You could tell he set a positive tone for the whole team, and it made the experience that much better.
All in all, this Popeyes turned my expectations around. I went in hesitant, but I left impressed—and I’ll definitely be back to this location. It’s a great example of how strong leadership and friendly service can make all...
Read moreThis location has been a disaster since it opened. I decided to give it another try, since I had read on facebook that it was under new management. I absolutely regret going here again. I ordered a ghost pepper chicken sandwich large combo meal and they rang it up as a regular combo meal and then charged me for an extra side. The correct price for the order came up on the drive thru screen, but when I got to the window, they gave me a price that was $3.50 higher. I explained that this was a higher price than it showed on the drive thru screen. The employee proceeded to argue with me that it was the higher price. I went ahead and payed for it, because I did not have time to continue arguing with the employee.
The food quality is absolutely disgusting. The sandwich was cold and the chicken was dry and tough. The chicken on the sandwich was also very small. This is not the same Popeyes chicken sandwich that everyone loved so much a few years back. This was absolutely horrible and nearly inedible. The flavor of the two sides was ok, but both were cold and had to be heated in the microwave when I got home. I ordered a large cajun fry for my daughter and this was cold as well. All of the food that I got was cold and seemed as though it had been sitting out for awhile.
If you value your money and your health, avoid this Popeye's location...
Read moreI’m writing to report a deeply disappointing experience at your Popeyes location in Granite City, Illinois, during the 12 o’clock shift. The service was absolutely unacceptable, and the behavior of the assistant manager was extremely unprofessional. The assistant manager at the register was incredibly rude, speaking to customers in a disrespectful manner. To make matters worse, she was using extremely foul language—including profanity—while children were present in the establishment. This kind of behavior is completely inappropriate in any customer-facing environment, especially in a family-oriented restaurant. If this is the standard of leadership and service being allowed, it will surely cost the company loyal customers and revenue. Please take immediate action. Either this location needs serious leadership and staff changes, or it risks damaging the reputation of your brand. I strongly urge you to investigate this matter and hold those responsible accountable. We, as customers, deserve respectful service and a safe, family-friendly...
