Do not eat the fish! I came here and ordered the blacken fish platter with whipped potatoes and zuccini, my husband ordered the platter of fried chicken with collard greens and Mac and cheese and my son ordered the chicken strips with Mac and cheese. They sat us at a table by the bar, we ordered our Koolaid and sweet tea. The food took about 30-40 minutes to come out. In the mean time a group of hoodlums come into the bar causing a seen. These young men asked us if we wanted to donate to them which My son donated to them in return they gave him a candy. The bar tender was annoyed with them because about 5-6 of them ordered water. So she asked are you going to order something to eat or you Just gonna order water? One of them ordered food distracting the bar tender as another was stealing the cash she had on the bar for tips or something. They were loud the bar tender was loud everyone was using profanity including staff and those customers. Very ghetto. The manager finds out the kids stole and was upset at the bartender for it she was upset and cursing. Then my husbands food comes, everything is good with his food and my sons. My plate was delayed for whatever reason so I waited. The waitress tells me there is no zucchini what else would I like she begins to tell me the things she doesn’t have. So I ordered the dirty rice and zucchini as the original plate comes. They don’t have zucchini so I told her whipped mash is fine. She yells to the cook she whipped mash is what I wanted. About 10 min later she passes by and says let me go check on your order. The cook tells her what side did I want she said I told you whipped mash he doesn’t have it ready. He said she never told him. She said at this point I’m gonna bring it out as is because they didn’t have whipped potatoes. She brings it out with rice. The cook tells her they don’t have whipped mash I told her beans and rice. She finally comes with it. In the mean time I try cutting into my fish and it was a weird texture it was difficult to cut into. I taste it it tasted drowned with a buttery sauce. I told my husband to try it. He refused because he saw how difficult of a time I had cutting into it. I told the waitress and she takes it back. I told her I don’t know but the fish has a weird texture and just doesn’t taste right. She said I believe you we just got a new distributor and we’ve heard this before. She takes back my plate and ask if I wanted anything else. At this point my husband is almost done with his food and so is my son. I told her I’ll take fried chicken. She misunderstood me and brings blackened chicken. I told her to give me a to go box and packed to eat at our hotel. I’m the mean time her. There are other coworkers on break everyone is upset because the manager was upset over the customers stealing $30-40 from the bartender and he was taking it out on them. All the staff is cursing and mad. I was ready t get out. I then was afraid to even eat my food I lost my appetite. We paid a lot of money for a horrible experience. To make things worst I was sick all night with vomiting and upset stomach. I had body chills and fever for a few days. I told my husband I will never return to this place again. We loved it the first time we came but this experience was by far the worst. I felt horrible and weak. You should never serve fish to a customer like this. It’s shameful for the cook to send this out and for the manager to know there is an issue with the fish and continue to send out orders with this new fish. Read moreI wrote an amazing review a few years back for LoLos (still posted and no longer have that Google account) but this place has gone downhill. I am so disappointed as it was my favorite place to eat. I went there Friday at lunch with a co worker to place a to-go order and I should have just gotten a burger. The place was super empty and lately the place has been really hit or miss. Well I was craving fried chicken and their shrimp Mac and cheese and I offered to take my co-worker here to grab food. We ordered at the bar and even though there was not hardly anyone else in the place the bartender rushed me to order. I asked her about an item and she would answer my question and then say let me give you a minute to decide and rush off. I wouldn't see her for another 5 -10 minutes and I had to flag her down in the back on her phone to order since I was on my lunch break. It took forever to get my food and it arrived cold. My co workers food arrived 15 minutes later. She showed me my order before bagging it up and the chicken was room temperature so I asked her to have it fresh and she said all of our chicken is fresh love. I explained that I come there all the time and hot fresh chicken is not warm to touch and it was obviously Luke warm. She left and came back and advised that they just dropped this for you. We can make it again but it will be a few minutes. I was already 50 minutes into my lunch and decided to JUST take the food. I got back to my office and yep everything was super cold. (those that know good fried chicken is even good cold this was horrible) the food smelled really good and I gave my co worker a piece of chicken and she gave me a piece of her catfish and she brings it back and says it's cold and tastes eggy. I open my plate to inspect my food and my chicken literally has pieces of egg shells fried in the batter of all 4 pieces. (Please see pictures) all 4 pieces. Some of the prices had no skin on the outside so they literally just battered and fried the meat of the chicken lol. (This skin is the best part lol) This caused it to be hard and rubbery. I took a bite of the shrimp Mac and cheese and it was also cold and not that pleasant to eat. I looked for my receipt and never even got one. So I googled the number and called in to ask for a manger and the phone just rang and no one picked up after several calls. This by far was the worst trip and I will not be back soon. I spent $45 + tip plus on a meal for lunch and could not eat the food at all. There is no quality control here, nor is there a manager watching what is happening. The focus should go back to customer service and quality food. Instead the staff were on their phones, and I even heard the bartender talking crap about a customer to another employee because the customer asked the bartender to sit outside and was told no, the outside area was closed with a attitude, so the customer ask someone else and that employee came over to the bar and ask if the customer can outside and eat and the bartender said I already told her a** no. I am not going all the way out there today so I closed it.. and walked away. She told another employee these customers were tripping asking to sit outside and then they get forgotten cuz I can't see them they gone be mad.. that's why I said no..
I am not sure who the owner is now but since they moved to this new building the food has been horrible 90%...
Read moreMy last visit I left very disappointed and upset. Due to time constraints, I placed an order for pickup for items I order all the time. I've been supporting and dining this restaurant for years often referring my clients/friends/family to dine at this establishment. I drive from Mansfield and I arrive to restaurant to pick up my food and was informed that my pickup order was over $30. I ordered 3 wings and collard greens. I questioned the pricing, and reviewed the menu pricing with the 2 ladies and it clearly states $21 for any 3 pieces of chicken with 2 sides. I have ordered these same items on several occasions dining in and to-go and never paid over $30. I was told there was an upcharge for to-go containers and wings. Not a problem but I asked why was I not informed of this when I placed the order and no one could answer. The manager was not at all apologetic that I was not properly informed but rather explained that maybe on my previous dinings "the server may just given me the regular pricing."
As a business owner, I totally understand the costs of doing business but $30 for chicken and greens is a bit pricey!! I was willing to pay just to support but It was the lack of customer service, communication and receiving attitude from the 2 ladies at the hostess stand and the manager (who was also a server, but manager for the night). I left disappointed that the staff thought this was okay to handle a customer this way, which means this is not the first time this has happened. The staff definitely needs customer service training and the menu needs to be updated with new pricing to absorb the additional pricing. Its just not a good look in that area. I feel for the restaurant to be in that area, many would be offended to pay for to go containers no other restaurant in that area or other areas charge for to-go containers.
