Lumberjacks Restaurant ā Breakfast Done Right!
We stopped by Lumberjacks for breakfast, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. While they also serve lunch and dinner, breakfast was our missionāand they absolutely delivered.
I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and let me just sayāit was one of the best Iāve had. Perfectly poached eggs with silky, smooth hollandaise sauce that paired beautifully with the runny yolk. The English muffin was stacked generously with thick slices of hamānot one, not two, but threeāand the hash browns were golden, crispy, and cooked to perfection.
The rest of our table went big with the Ultimate Breakfast, which truly lives up to its name. It comes loaded with French toast, sausage links, crispy bacon, a thick-cut ham steak, eggs made to order, and more of those delicious hash browns. The portions are massiveādefinitely enough to take some home for later.
The food was clearly made with careāmajor compliments to the chef! Service was friendly and fast, and the entire staff made us feel welcome. The restaurant and restrooms were impressively clean, which I always appreciateāit says a lot about the place.
We didnāt have room for dessert (though we were tempted). The display case was full of goodiesābig slices of chocolate cake, blueberry cobbler, cream piesānext time, for sure.
Between the generous portions, flavorful food, clean environment, and warm service, this was a five-star breakfast experience. Weāll definitely be back to try more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile I have always had wonderful service from the staff, sadly the quality of the food has progressively gone downhill over the past 3 years. The cooks work hard to provide the intended end product, but clearly the quality of the meats, etc. have diminished. I understand that food service has been impacted due to Covid restrictions and supply issues, but if other restaurants in our area can provide delicious and price competitive meals, it is possible for L.J. to do so as well. One by one I have eliminated choices I would normally order due to the meal becoming no longer appealing (i.e. French Dip sandwiches should have more meat than fat) Last week I ordered the Turkey dinner, and was served something akin to slices of Turkey bologna. (NOT EVEN CLOSE to 'Turkey Roll' or it's like.) All the advertising in the world is not going to get your customers back if this has become the new standard at this location. Adding 'insult-to-injury', prices have markedly increased. Increase if you have to because of rising product costs - but DON'T followup by serving food that clearly is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe avocado toast I had was really disappointing, especially given the $14 price. The bread wasnāt anything special and was only lightly toasted (still mostly soft), and the slices of avocado were thin and skimpy, not thick and generous. A little pile of alfalfa sprouts adorned this lackluster offering, and no gratuitous side item or even a garnish accompanied the toast. It was as if some very depressed person threw it together before leaving work to attend a group therapy session. I sent it back the first time and was nice in my request for a do-over, but comically got pretty much the same presentation on the second go-around. The real capper was when the woman at the cashier station asked the obligatory āhow was everything?ā as we settled the check. I thought Iād be doing them a constructive favor by actually detailing (again) what had disappointed me about my meal instead of just replying with an insincere āit was fineā, and had to stifle a chuckle when the cashier replied with, āGood, Iām gladā.
Sigh....
