Enjoyed a wonderful hot breakfast here, with the freshest, most wholesome scones and pocket pies! The scone crumb was perfect with the right density and moisture, plus REAL, thick fruit pieces and mild pastry sweetness plus mild frosting. Blueberry is my favorite but the cranberry orange is a close second! The blackberry pocket pie was just right, and the apple pocket pie has a gentle flavor and superb texture. I complemented the staff and was told the pie dough recipe was her grandmother's original recipe, and all pastries were homemade and baked fresh twice weekly! They roast their own coffee in house and even sell custom fresh k-cup pods and bagged coffees! My spiced Chai tea latte was quite spicy in the best way! Very warming! My husband tried the special roast of the week and enjoyed it as a black coffee. We plan to come back very soon for the gigantic homemade breakfast burritos and to try the famous Governors Cup blend! The wife and I stopped and had a nice breakfast here the other day. It wasn't too busy even as one of the few coffee shops open on a Sunday, and the staff was very friendly. The food was very good. I had a bacon breakfast burrito which was toasted so the outside had a nice crunch, while the insides were warm with melty cheese and fluffy eggs. My wife had a really good veggie quiche which had peppers and spinach and was seasoned well.

I had a London fog which was excellent. Not too much sugar, the right amount of milk, and the tea used was brewed perfectly. My wife tried their "Coffee Flight" for thr month of May, which had five different coffees to try. All of them were great, but our favorite was the huckleberry affogato. We're now going to make coming here a monthly date so we can try the new...

I've had a lot of good experiences here, but many bad ones, too. Some baristas are kind and professional while others just suck(after being employed there for months). Maybe they're poorly trained, and maybe they're just stupid, but the bottom line is that I'm commonly overcharged for an inconsistent product. For example, today I got a 20oz latte and the milk was oversteamed, by the time i got home it was a 12.5oz latte and I hadn't even sipped it.

I hope they straighten up, because as a local business(which is why I wanted to support them in the first place) there are no corporate hawks to swoop in from on high and bust balls. It's a shame because Morning Light deserves 5 stars if I could go five visits and get a consistent price...
