Being a transfer student from ISU I'm impressed . The latter statement was 4 years ago. I graduated this year with plans to go to graduate school. The school has issues that, are not taken seriously or are ignored. Many changes, though minor can improve and help student learning at no additional cost. Even with the multitude of problems the university has, they will never be solved unless they hire a mediator to work with students and staff. Such person must have a likable personality and known among the students, professors and staff to properly retrieve information to suggest changes. Our new President is a very likable and devoted individual. But such a position prevents him actually to see what is taking place on campus. The university has provided me an excellent education I could not have gotten from a more prestigious university. The staff and professors go above and beyond what is required of them to help struggling students. The university is very humble in their devotion to students and provide a one on one.service to students. But as I mentioned there are many things in need of change. For example; this is the only university I know that has banking hours for a study environment. The library is the primary place of study but opens at 730 am and closes at 10pm. If you are in need of more studying time your out of luck. They graciously extend the hours by 2 during midterm and finals.
