The manager, Tammy Comer, has been acquainted with me since the store opened last year. Unlike all the many other Papa John’s from which I pick up deliveries, none of which ask me even to present the Door dash app, let alone press ‘confirm’ in front of them, Tammy demands both of these actions. All the other Papa John’s are excellent in being friendly, co-operative and helpful, especially since they have got to know me and see me frequently. I cannot say the same for the Green Cove Springs store.
Today when my helper went in Tammy asked if he was there for so & so, naming the customer. He said that he was, upon which she asked to see him confirm receipt of the order. He told her that none of the other Papa John’s require this, but that he would go out to the car to get the phone in order to do this.
He went out, got me to bring in the phone and confirm receipt of the order in the Door Dash app, which I was about to do. Tammy asked me to confirm receipt, so I held the phone screen up to her to show that I needed first to take a photo of the order in the pizza bag before I could continue and confirm receipt.
At this point she said that she could not give me the order until I confirmed it. I said that I needed to take a photo of it in the bag. She repeated, rather dictatorially, that until the confirmation showed up on her computer screen she would not let me have the food!
She then said that she didn’t need delivery drivers like this, that she has told me from Day One that I must confirm the order before receiving it at which point she took the food away and told me and my helper to leave ‘her’ store immediately. (!)
I was very taken back by her belligerent and hostile behavior, especially since I have picked up so many orders from that store in the past without incident.
As I said above, all the other 5-6 Papa John’s in the area from which I pick up deliveries are friendly and accommodating. None of them at all make such demands, let alone in so domineering a way. I understand that the needs of various Papa John’s may differ, especially if there is high theft in an area. Nonetheless, I would hope that after I had picked up so many orders in the past from the same Papa John’s the manager (and staff) would know me, trust me and respect me.
The manager’s behavior at the Green Cove Springs store was uncalled for and offensive. It is also bewildering to me, given that I have many times picked up deliveries from this store without incident.
I feel that this is a case of a given manager overstepping her bounds and feeling that she needs to assert undue authority over others. I have witnessed her yelling at staff on several occasions, which made me feel uneasy. All in all, a person with such an attitude does not need to be in a managerial position.
As a Doordasher I am always trying to do my best to balance the requirements of Door Dash, the needs and interests of my customer and the particular challenges of individual stores. I feel that my approach to my work is dedicated, sincere and honest, as well as friendly and respectful.
The incident today at the Green Cove Springs, Florida Papa John’s, however, was very upsetting to me. I would truly, please, ask for Door Dash to address this with Papa John’s.
And by the way, my apologies to the customer who I was unable to deliver for due to...
Read morefamily wanted pizza for dinner, so I decided to order from Papa John's online. For some reason the website wasn't working, and gave me an error. After trying several different way I sent my son to Papa John's to order the pizza. My son arrived and tried to order the gameday special. The employee explained to him that the game day special was only available online. My son called and explained this to me, so I told him to order the buy one get one deal. Again he was meet with that's for online only. After my son called the second time and told me we had to order it online I ent to Papa johns because I thought it was a mistake because nothing on the website stipulated it was an online item only. When I arrived and spoke to the cashier I explained I tried to order the pizza online but the website wasn't working properly and the website didn't say it was for online purchase. The cashier was very friendly and explained there wasn't anything she could do, so I ordered two large pizzas and a drink, but before I could tap my card to pay another female who was making the pizzas asked me to leave because I was yelling. I explained to her that I have scar tissue build up in my ears and I have a hard time hearing plus the echo in the store was making it sound louder. After explaining to her she then called the cops. When the cops arrived they could see I wasn't being loud and disrespectful and the store manager was called up to the store where she admitted that I was discriminated against and she would have a talk with the employee. I was discriminated against and refused service because I was talking loud. I never made a threat I was simply having a conversation with the cashier about the situation. I understand they are a private business but that doesn't give them the right to discriminate against me because I'm...
Read moreI got delivery. Ordered online. Through their app. I received my pizza and cheese sticks, however I ordered 4 sauces and Pepperoncinis as well. I did not receive those sauces except the 1 for the cheese sticks, and the 1 garlic for the pizza. I also got ONE pepperoncini. You usually get more than one just normally! I called and it rang and rang and they kept putting the robot back on. So fine, if you don’t want to resolve the issue then here is an official complaint. This is the second time I’ve not received my sauces, the first time I didn’t even say anything. Clearly it needs to be brought up in a meeting or something. Thanks, and thanks for this...
