We have driven past this place probably 100 times always wondering what it was all about. So when I had the idea for an impromptu Daddy Daughter date I knew where we would try out. Now let start off saying that this place is almost always hopping, we decided to go to a snow cone place in Fall. LOL. Yes I know, but even in the chilly weather this stuff was good. We decided on ice cream and will try the snow cones next summer. The ice cream flavors had a cute local twist to them and you knew it from the start based on the names. I got the âCold-brewed Caramochaâ and man was this good. If you like strong coffee flavor with a chocolatey caramel infusion then this is your horse. The acidity of the coffee paired nicely with sweets bringing a pleasant balance to the taste. Mouth feel was not only creamy, but also had a thickness similar to custard based ice creams. My daughter went for the tried and true cookies and cream or âMilk and Cookiesâ as they called it. Again, nice thick creaminess of a premium ice cream. Nothing hard or frozen. Literally a milk and Oreos ice cream. Classic. They had several choices of ice cream but not so much that it gets overwhelming. The staff was beyond knowledgeable of the products and answered the many questions I asked. Thank you to Melanie and Corey for the guidance! There is a sitting area where kids can play with balls (soccer and football were available). All in all a really special time with my special girl making a memory. We will be back for those snow cones. Especially the sugar free options making this diabetic dad happy he can...
Read moreI was so excited to go to Pelicans while on vacation in Jacksonville. We waited until they opened at 2pm to go. When we arrived one worker was outside. Upon our arrival she went inside. We waited for the clock to hit 2 before we walked up. No one appeared in the building. We waited for a few minutes and rang the bell, still nothing. All the lights were on so we went back to the car and attempted to call them, no answer. We look towards the building only to see someone peeking out from a closet. We went back up and waited and rang the bell once again. It wasnât until my friend looked and waved into the camera before a worker emerged from a back closet. Then we had to wait for the worker to prepare all things for the day. Our snow cone was melted when we received it. Very...
Read moreLoved it!!!! Hahahahaha!!! Very cute place, they did a LOT of work on that building! Staff was super friendly. What I did not know was you can get stuffed shaved ice (I've never heard of this!). I've had plenty of shaved ice but not with softserve. I prefer the softserve over the condensed milk personally, now I know!
Prices are quite reasonable, the servings are much larger than you think! I enjoyed the Coconut Cream Cake immensely. When it's this hot out, shaved ice melts very very fast (this happens in Hawaii too). Thanks to the condensed milk and softserve, it will melt right into a delicious icy shake. Loved I all and will definitely return! I have to get through all...
